I wouldn't say he's doing it for the gay vote, I mean, the Democrats already have the gay vote.

My school has a LGBT club. I guess it's a good idea because they mostly get hated on

I'd like to know why we seem to require the constant shoving of minority groups down our throats.
LBGTXYZ, Black this, Wimmin's that.... how utterly boring. Maybe the Clown-in-Chief ought to spend his time on something useful, ie reversing the out of control spending his administration have engaged in or the pointless wars he's started resulting in al-Qaeda now controlling huge swathes of desert.
This sort of stunt is oh-so-typical of the Democrats though in appealing to the cesspit known as Hollywood.

That would be really hard to do. seeings you need votes to pass laws

Clearly you bring it to congress, make the majority vote for what is wanted, and continue on going. They've done it many times before (Every single time...)
Human rights don't need to be voted on. Its a right that everyone should have. To be able to love who they love!

So why don't you email them like you normally do and ask them why its not legal

To be able to love who they love!
Except all the things it's illegal to love.
Anyway, isn't gay rights more of a state by state issue anyway? Can Obama even do anything about that?

heterosexuals aren't being oppressed by society so why would they require a month of awareness?
straight people are not the ones struggling for equality and social acceptance due to their sexuality

He could use an extreme interpretation of the Constitution in order to force it through.

So I can't take pride in being heterosexual. So this is just a case of the minority oppressing the majority...
What about straight people who are oppressed for other reasons? Why do they not get a song and dance in the media & whatnot? It's stupid to even give it a month of "awareness" to begin with as it just makes it seem like it's abnormal to be LGBT, making them stand out more when the aim is to promote "equality".
Are LGBT people really that oppressed in the west/developed world? In the UK, the biggest issue they seemed to complain (and go about wrongly in my opinion) was gay marriage which is virtually identical to civil partnership... You could say lots of people get bullied for being it, and you're probably right however people get bullied for so many reasons that being LGBT isn't actually the issue.

Why are you bothered by there being a LGBT month? How does it negatively impact you?
Personally, I couldn't care less. So what if there's a LGBT month, so what if there's a Black history month etc.

Would you mind a white history month?
It doesn't negatively impact us, but it really gets on our nerves. The self-pity industry is very profitable.

Exactly, he completely ignores the constitution when it comes to war so what's to stop King Obama? The hilarious part -which they're too stupid to realise - is that whenever Democrats seek to use federal powers over the states, they have to remember that it in turn gives the GOP license to do so aswell. :P

Fair enough, but I would suggest that the office of the President shouldn't be treating one race/one sexuality specially over another.

Because, to me, it just highlights an "us vs them" kind of attitude (by people of all sexualities) and in all honesty, I find it frustrating how people constantly have to look at people by sexuality, race, sex etc. rather than by their ideas and these kind of awareness movements seem more backward than forward to me. So whilst it doesn't affect me directly, I don't believe it benefits society as a whole.

I dislike LGBT campaigns like this and pride as well. It seems counter-productive to want equality and to not be seen as "different" then decide to have a special event aimed exclusively for homosexuals, bisexuals and trans-gendered individuals. Granted these events do not necessarily only have LGBT individuals go as heterosexuals go too, it seems out of date by about 10 years to have this sort of event.
A new name would be better - perhaps just "Pride" focusing on equality, humanity, morality and kinship? Have it focus on diversity rather than be hosted by a bunch of people grasping at a stereotype they passive-aggressively wish they wouldn't be judged by.

What annoys me more than special times which are supposedly to think about X group of people is that T is lumped in with LGB when it has nothing at all to do with sexuality and just gets overlooked in every campaign despite it being legal in 33/50 States to fire someone solely for being transgender, or to deny someone housing for being transgender, because the courts refused to pass an amendment to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act to cover federal protection for transgender people. Congrats America

Well I consider "Gay" Marriage, "Marriage". I didn't go out and have a Gay Walk this morning. I didn't go and Gay Park my car last night?
Love is love (Between two consenting adults) It's not a privilege for gay couples to get married. Its a right. A privilege is like how churches don't pay any taxes....
hate how people try to dedicate months to **** like this, it just separates us further
i think this is even worse than black history month 'cause this is just celebrating that some people are born with neurological abnormalities
stop forcing it in my face
people will accept you in time, not by forcing it down peoples throats

Marriage is essentially a legal contract. Going for a walk or parking your car isn't.

It's as irritating as gay pride parades. If you want the world to accept you and treat you equally, you don't go about it by having a gigantic parade which heterosexuals do not have at all.

Not that heterosexuals could have pride parades anyway, they would be bashed and threatened like you have no idea.

Apart from the formal definition of marriage is "the formal union of a man and a woman". And there's about as much right to marriage as there's a right to being served in a shop.
But what I really don't understand is why LGBT people fought so hard to be allowed to marry in an institution which doesn't even "approve" of them.

The prides are still unnecessary. If you want to educate about homosexuality do public speeches, lectures, visit schools, invest in scientific research (sociological/anthropological/biological/psychology) etc. etc. Gay pride parades don't normalise homosexuals because they are doing something that isn't normal/common.

I believe Pride is a wonderful occasion. It promotes interaction between the Lgbt and Hetros and Lgbt-lgbt. It also shows other lgbt (mostly youth) that they aren't just different, that theres many many more people who are the same as them.
Also its something to look forward for, for those who have it rough. I honestly would love to go.
Fun Fact: The christian book store in downtown Halifax closes during Pride. Idk but thats not just a coincidence.

I can't understand whether you're trying to make a dig at Christianity AGAIN here, but you need to realise that not every Christian is against other sexualities.
So ANGRY cause I had a video of a good 100+ Christian ministers showing their support for LGBT and I can't figure out where I found it.
Oh and also I am pretty much 99pcnt certain by now that the large majority of the western world knows that people of other sexualities actually exist.
