The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only survivors are the residents of twelve space stations in Earth's orbit prior to the war, and the descendants of the people on earth who survived the war, called "grounders" by the 100. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named "The Ark", where about 2,400 people live.[1] Resources are scarce and all crimes no matter their nature or severity are punishable by death ("floating") unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age. After the Ark's life support systems are found to be critically failing, one hundred juvenile prisoners are declared "expendable" and sent to the surface in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again.

The ark consist of the space stations previously representing the nations of the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada, China, Japan, India, Russia, Venezuela, Spain, Brazil, and Uganda.

It's already been renewed for season two as well, it's not that great though. It steals stuff from The Hunger Games and from other things from what I've read.

I dont really care if it has some things from like films and other shows. i honestly think its a good show im on episode 7 now out of 13.
It's worth watching wouldnt judge it just because it isnt your cuppa tea. just watch the pilot like i did and then see if you can get into it.

I actually watched a few episodes, at first I was great and I really enjoyed it. Then they made that little girl kill whatever his name was and that's when I started losing interest, it got quite repetitive and boring. I'll probably watch it if it airs on E4 and see if I can get into it again but it's not on my to watch list

I've watched the first two out on E4 but I'm not enjoying it that much.. it's a good show for heckling with my family though hehe

i find the logic that they wouldn't be killed (or get really really ill first) by radiation just 98 years after a nuclear apocalypse really hard to believe tho :(
