Branded Furniture

Does anyone know the reason why all the promotional furniture on the old US hotel did not get de-branded (American Idol, 7-11 etc..), whilst all of the other promotional furniture on .co.uk were replaced (Childline, Camp Rock etc..)?

I'd have thought that Habbo UK would have paid to have the sponsorship from Childline, Frank, Percy Jackson etc. but when they merged that contract probably expired due to having different laws in the US? I could be wrong though, but I'd look at it that way perhaps.

I would have thought that they would have to change some of the american idol furniture in the future just as they changed a lot of old Habbo UK posters.

It's still called childline when you see an item in the hotel. But yeh, contracts end, things therefore have to change, it's a shame sometimes.

I also why some gets rebranded and some does not. There used to be lego themed furniture (believe it was basically branded sports furni) which got removed but yeah its all very inconsistent.

They still have the twilight furniture range too, very strange how they've chosen not to rebrand certain bits.

Are Habbo directly referencing say.. Twilight for example? Like that trophy of the wolf or whatever it is, that was to do with the Twilight promotion? but that wouldn't need to be changed

I think the names changed as well, from Childline to Idea Agency? I might be wrong about that though. The furniture however did definitely changed as shown:

I don't think the changes made the furniture look much worse, other than the teleporters which looks a bit plain to me. The lava lamp though was a huge improvement imo and is currently one of my favourite rares :P.

i don't think we'll ever get a real reason, but thinking about it i wondered if the contract was only for habbo.co.uk. checking the forums apparently the logos for idea agency were removed december 2009, which was just before the announcement of merging the hotels (apparently jan 2010).

obviously this doesn't match up with camp rock being changed july 2009, but just a theory.

Sulake have/had a minfield of national laws to fall in-line with, head offices in Helsinki with satelite offices in London and elsewhere, it would all depend on where the deal with the brand was orignally licensed.

Like many broken furniture names, missing images and handitem42s, the promotional furni retain elements of their original branding as they have fallen on the ever growing pile of little fixes that are never resolved in-client, in fact, branded furniture is often the worst offending category with its telling 'ads_' extension: ads_1800 teleports, ads_clwall1, ads_dtlrare etc etc.

I don't see this being tidied in any consistent way anytime soon, it will likely just continue on...

The Lavalamp looks so much better, I like the sofa without the branding too.
The tele looks horrible though.
