Lmao this is odd, but I think there's a problem with moths in my room/maybe house.
Basically every day I am finding loads of small moths appearing on the ceiling of my room and no matter how many of them I kill, there's more and more appearing (I do understand they lay eggs and hatch quickly but I was hoping I was fast enough to kill them bizarrely) and I'm fairly sure if I dont do something soon I'm gonna be in moth hell.
I can't understand why they're in my room though cause they're not feasting on my clothes and I don't have any grains or... oh i have a box of cereal omfg i hope it's not that. Anyway yeah they're not seemingly doing anything, they're just staying on the ceiling and flying about every so often but it is driving me crazy how many i have to kill a day.
What can I actually do about this, is there an easy home method to get rid of them or will i have to call pest control if it gets too much (i dont fancy that) or are there any traps or stuff thatt people on here have experience with etc.
+rep for any useful replies :P

You can look out for pheromone moth traps - an all over clean would probably improve it too (I'm not saying your room or house is untidy, but it'll help get rid of any eggs they may have laid). :)

Oh I have that in my room too :S
I remember ages ago my mum told me it's to do with damp?
I looked it up on google and it says if you have pet food left out or any carpet in your house, they get attracted to the food or any type of sugary food too and lay eggs underneath the carpet/??/////// I didn't even know this tho omg but this may not be about the common moth okay okay
I get them most of the time where we leave the windows open in summer so like atm theres probs 2 in my house rn
Aparently you can get sticky traps or summet to get rid of them but thats too much effort for me

lmao omg im like that even if its like 30 degrees ill close my windows completely just cos i HATE flies if i see a fly i will stop whatever it is im doing n wait til it either goes out the room or kill it before i can even look away n do something else lol... once spent like an hour just chasing a fly at night cos i wouldnt go to sleep until it was gone... the buzzing sound is just SO ******* ANNOYING I CANNOT COPE
in my old house whenever it was summer the bathroom would be FULL of moths every single year... but literally only that room in the whole house so it was weird n there was obv some problem with that room because then both me and my brother would freak out n refuse to go to to the bathroom lol
you might need to get your carpet cleaned. Not as expensive/as much hassle as you think, you can hire one from b&q and also get the washing stuff to keep for £50.

The size of some that have been making an appearance late at night in my room is ridiculous.
What are they eating this year?
in brazil they have bugs the size of seagulls so consider yourself lucky
once I had a bee nest on my roof and they were some how getting in my house then trying to escape and stinging me. it was the worst month in my life

I get moths ALWAYS when I open the window, I can't ever have it open now
few years back there was a spider on my wall, I kid you not it was as big or even bigger than my hand it was a ******* GIANT
I also get slugs coming into the kitchen because the door isn't air fitted, so I constantly go down at night killing them but last week I sprinkled salt all around the house, so far so good..

That's not really a thing in england :(
howeverr hayden if you want a homemade screen you can always put blinds up. i find not many bugs come in my room if i open the blinds but don't pull them up (if that makes sense???).
The way to get rid of them now is clean your room thoroughly. Probably gonna be a two day job knowing u ;l so tidy the first day and clean clean clean the next. make sure to take out all fabric (clothes, curtains, bed thingies, soft toys??, etc) and give them a quick clean and an air. if you have carpet/rugs on your floor, get the carpet cleaned professionally like sian said or wash the rugs out twice yourself. To get rid of the current ones, invest in a good bug spray and get spraying. put something down on the floor first if you don't want dead moths all over ur bedroom!
Fly screens are amazing, it's a shame no one has them in England. They really help keep things out of your rooms. Put up a net across your window to stop them getting in lmao. If they're already in, idk. I can't remember if you have them gas bombs in England but we put them off at the start and end of summer and they cover the whole house and kill any living insect of bug in your house. (some of them kill fish as we learnt the hard way :/).
ugh last night was so bad. My room is like a sauna and I haven't been able to sleep for the last few days cause its so warm but then my room gets invested with them if I open the window. Spent hours last night trying to kill them all omg. I've been spraying my room with fly/wasp killer but just looked to see if there was a net you can get for windows and there seem to be some on ebay for cheap!!
