Just before i go and buy a lead is this correct?

If I plug HDMI into my Mac Book Pro and other side into to tele will my mac show on my tele?

I do it with my Windows laptop alot and it works perfectly, can't see why it wouldn't be the same for Macs. Might have to adjust the size on your Mac to fit the screen. :)

Yes. Thats correct. But you have to click HDMI on your TV. :)

Do the new MacBook's have a HDMI port? I have to use the adaptor.. but yes it does work!

Out of curiosity, will the MacBook be able to play sound through the television from the get go or would it need a few settings tinkered with?

Sometimes mine plays sound through the T.V, sometimes it doesn't, it's never really bothered me though :P

HDMI carries sound, so assuming apple haven't snuck in some sort of propitiatory HDMI port, sound should work just fine.

When i tried it last night it didnt. However like Rhyss said it might do it sometimes but not the others?

Unless a display adaptor is used then yes (I think MDP carries audio anyway).

Only if you are not on default settings. Default still makes with or without HDMI connection play sound through internal speakers.
