Why are they flying infected aid workers back to America, they knew what they were getting into and frankly I think its selfish that they're putting everyone else at risk. There are already samples of it so they are flying them back for moral reasons because they feel sorry for them. Lets all remember this when they are the reason for millions of deaths.

Misconception number two. Quarantine doesn't always work. Look what happened to anthrax. Currently, Ebola can only be transmitted through bodily fluids HOWEVER it is not impossible for it to mutate, changing the way it is transmitted (coughing and becoming airborne). If this happens. WE ARE ******.

The conditions in West Africa are perfect for breeding disease, curing THIS disease will not change the conditions in which others thrive. There. Is. No. Point.

Lastly, I'm a germophobe and I hate disease so I just find the whole thing disgusting.

IM SCARED WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE ARGHGH GODDDD

it's not even being reported in much of africa because it's only occurring in a few places. it's not a big threat to them as, say, malaria is.

i don't think there's much to worry about as america can probably deal with it better than africa, hence why the missionaries are being flown back there for treatment

Thats so bad, it should be reported in majority of places!

Well, considering after contracting the virus, the infected person can have no symptoms for up to 21 days.
The current survival rate is a mere 10%, and 30% if caught early on.
When the infected person reaches the internal and external haemorrhaging, all of their bodily fluids are infected. Projectile Vomiting and convulsions kinda reminds me of zombies you know. By then they're swinging around contaminating everything in their vicinity.
Also is importing to know, you should have your trusty Purell around. If you don't have that, then the CDC says a hand sanitizer with a 60% alcohol content.
So, with the many flights going on, one person simply vomiting, or even not washing their hands after using the wash room during a flight could contaminate many people.

I honestly would be very cautious. I will be making my runs to stock up on Purell, and a stop at the Hospital for some surgical masks if possible. Remember, it's never bad to be prepared for the worst.

I suggest you do your reading about this subject, it's only your life you need to worry about.

They've been warning about it over here on the news too. Pretty scary! I voted No because that's more likely to infect other people in the US and isn't really preventing the spread.

The american doctor is being moved to a specialized and prepared hospital to treat him, with safe transport. Ebola is not transmitted on air by the way.

It would literally take an act of God to get politicians to close or at least control the borders, so good luck everyone.

On the good side of things, viruses and diseases don't discriminate..... Islington, Westminster and Washington DC are just as at risk.

it says on the bbc website that its transferred through blood, bodily fluids and somethingabout internal organs. you wont get ebola. its mainly affecting poor countries who can't all afford clean water.

Bringing people back is the right thing to do imo because put yourselves in their shoes. if your country refused to let you go home because you're ill, how would you feel?

As long as everything is secure and all that, then its fine.

Putting myself in their shoes, I wouldn't even travel there in the first place. They could kill millions by bringing a deadly disease to America which could easily mutate, becoming airborne. In an urbanised environment such as the USA, this is a disaster.

Well currently, Ebola can only survive in a fluids, and is not yet "Airborne" BUT, they can be trapped in airborne heavy water particles. Which can occur from someone simply sneezing. The particles dont stay in the air to long, and can't travel that far.

From RT News it seems that someone from Wales is infected. You can read about it here: http://rt.com/uk/178204-wales-ebola-monitor-uk/

I suggest you might want to be cautious around people until this whole thing (hopefully) blows over.

Purell and Surgical Masks for all!

no...

"possible"
"potential"
"may"
"not showing any concrete symptoms"
"no confirmed incidences"
"if the individual develops suspicious symptoms"

The article does not say "someone from Wales is infected", it says someone from Wales may be infected but they are not sure. It's very likely nothing dangerous, but they're right to be cautious nonetheless. They also have a good plan with what to do with the patient if it does turn out to be ebola.

For now, I don't believe it'll kill us all. Like Rhyss said, life-threatening diseases are popping up all the time which are supposedly "endangering the world's population", but hey we're all still here. We'll just have to watch and see what happens. Wash your hands, folks:¬:

Pretty much what I think too. They over-exaggerated about swine flu, claiming thousands had died when it was only about 136 and that was direct exposure rather than spread through the air as was the claim at the time.
