The HxF Mole 3 - Task 3: Freebies

[Kardan]

This task introduces ‘Freebies’ to the competition. ‘Freebies’ are essentially items that you can earn throughout the competition and you use them when you submit your Execution Quiz. For each Freebie you earn, you can simply answer a question in the Execution Quiz with Freebie and it would be marked correctly.

So, for example, if you didn’t know the gender of the Mole, you could submit the following during the Execution Quiz if you had a Freebie:


1] What is the gender of the Mole? Freebie

You would then get that question correct. Essentially, a Freebie gives you a free point in the Execution Quiz.

There is no limit on how many Freebies a person can hold at one time.

You may not use the Freebie on the final question of the Execution Quiz (Who is the Mole?), as we need an answer to determine Mole Detections for the Mole’s win condition at the end of the competition.

You carry Freebies with you over rounds. So for example if you won 3 Freebies during Tasks 1, 2 and 3 you could, for example, play all 3 Freebies for Execution Quiz 1. Or you could play 0 Freebies for Execution Quiz 1 and play all 3 in Execution Quiz 2 – you could even play 1 Freebie for Execution Quiz 1, and save 2 for Execution Quiz 2.

If you are eliminated from the competition with Freebies, they are essentially wasted.

However, all Freebies must be used either during or before Execution Quiz 5. Any Freebies taken used during Execution Quiz 6, or the final Execution Quiz will be void.

And now, for the task. I have a predetermined amount of Freebies to give away to the group. To start the task, I will post ‘There is 1 Freebie up for grabs’. The first contestant to post ‘I’ll take the Freebie’ in bold will earn that Freebie. They are then out of the task, and can no longer take part and can no longer earn any additional Freebies.

After a certain amount of time I will post again, offering another Freebie. If someone took the previous Freebie, once again, there would be 1 Freebie on offer.
However, if nobody took the previous Freebie, there would now be 2 Freebies up for grabs. Whoever posts now, in bold, will get 2 Freebies.
This continues until I run out of Freebies. If there are still untaken Freebies up for grabs when I run out, I will take them out of play when I make my next post. The question is, how greedy are you? When do you take the Freebies? How long do you wait?

So if you have, for example, 2 Freebies you may decided to return 0, 1 or 2 Freebies. If you keep the Freebies you can use them as intended on Execution Quizzes, if they are returned you obviously lose the ability to use them.

To return a Freebie, you simply PM me stating you want to return them.

You have until 9pm BST to return the Freebies, after that the task will be over.

At the end of the task I will state how many days of VIP have been won, but I will not state who returned the Freebies.

Since there are 30 Freebies out there, you can win up to 30 days of group VIP in this task.

There's a reason that the task says nothing on the lines of 'You may not post your image/discuss your image' etc. because the rule would essentially be pointless.

A lot of 'The Mole' games on other forums run on the honour system, you'll get tasks such as 'You cannot communicate with your fellow contestants for this task' and whilst I'd love to do tasks like that, it's pretty much impossible.

Here is the same, I have no way to stop you all from telling your images to each other, and frankly I'm surprised it took this long for someone to start asking people. Of course it would be better if you didn't, but what can I actually do? I could make a rule, but then it just becomes a case of who do people snitch upon and who do people let off?

The task was designed such that if you tell people your image, your chances of getting an exemption in that task become very very close to 0, and the prizes for that task are set to be quite difficult to achieve in normal conditions because of the ease of essentially 'ruining' the task.

So whilst it's against the spirit of the game, it's not actually against the rules because the rule cannot be enforced.

in event of a tie, the winners = the people who got the most correct. so if they ended up getting most correct cause they asked ppl (espec if the ppl they asked didnt realise what they were doing) then thts cheating
