Buying a laptop with my student loan with it arrives at the start of next month. Looking for a laptop with at least 8GB ram and 1TB hard drive. Budget no more than £400.
Any recommendations? :)

For my recommendation I would say both 8GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive are major overkill if all you are doing is using it for college/uni work. If you plan to use it for any type of gaming or doing other things then for sure go for 8GB RAM and make sure to look into the processor also.
Personally I find Dells to be awesome but you really can't go wrong with another company like Lenovo, Acer, Sony, ect. My advice would be to go on Amazon and plug in your price range and see what comes up.

Yeah will be using it for uni work, skype and gaming so that's why I'm going for the higher RAM. :)

We've recently just got this in store and its pretty popular with uni students, and has all your requirements.

Seen this, just wasn't too keen on the colour (I know, I'm picky :(), do you know if they have any grey or black ones? :)
Edit: Ooo I like this one: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-pavilion-15-p075sa-15-6-laptop-silver-10016047-pdt.html
Hopefully it's still in stock when I buy it. :)

I wanna get the one you posted bluebox, but worried because my previous HP has had so many problems, cooling fan, led lights on the screen turning off etc.

What kind of games do you actually intend to play?
Why would you even buy a laptop from currys lol... If you want that model then look around online, although sometimes currys do exclusive models only for their shops.

If you want to do any serious gaming you'll need atleast an i5.
