View Full Version : Damaged hair
so me and Red; have been having a hair crisis haha and we both have damaged hair
i think kirst broke either her straightners or curlers or something and they burnt her hair so her hairs deadd
and i left my hairdye in for too long whilst i was doing something so left it in for about 30/40mins too long and now my hair is all broken and gross
we've been like on a search though for a shampoo/condition or something of a sort to help it tho but nothings been working
my mum gave me a long lecture the other day about how ive killed my hair hahha
yeh do you know any good shampoos or anything hair masks or whatever to help damaged hair or things good for it please
yes its so sad cos my hair was always so healthy waa
Tried aussie deep conditioner and ojon so far. Has anyone used any kerastase products????

hair is already dead so u haven't killed it. damaged hair needs protein which i believe the line you mention has a lot of kirst. nothing can repair the damage so just lessen the amount of heat you apply to it for the moment until the damage is cut away.

I hate aussie since they changed their formula in 2010 by adding aloe vera to everything!! I was hopping the ojon would work but maybe I need to just keep using it. Kerastase have so many, idk what to pick!

Aussie 3 minute miracle is literally a miracle
Also Herbal Essences Split End Protection. Wash hair and leave both shampoo and conditioner on for quite a while (be patient, like 3 mins for shampoo and at LEAST 5 for conditioner). Do 2 rounds of conditioner if it's really bad
AND STAY OFF THE HEAT STUFF FOR A WHILE. No blow drying, no straightening or curling for a while!!
I've had this problem for a while now and I'm finally getting to grips with it!
Red; Yuxin;
I absoloutely swear by argan oil after dying my hair, and I use henna conditioning mask every few washes. They both work a miracle for me!
Oh I forgot I boguht these aragan and Moroccan oil things in tubes but they legit made my hair look greasy. :'(

deoends how u use it. u can use it for a few hours before u shampoo so you get some benefit but wash it out to avoid looking greasy,

I used to have that problem but I find that you need to use barely any of it, if you're using it whilst blowdrying I squirt literally 2 drops then rub it in to my hands and use. That's what we got taught when I did hairdressing training, but my hands always feel real oily afterwards haha

You can't unburn your hair, same as you can't take a burn mark out of an ironing board but you can try and temporarily make it look better with hair treatments and washing.
Idk depends how badly it burned and if it's just the tips or all of it and how deep it went butttt....
Make sure to thoroughly brush your hair every morning and night to get out all the dead (as in ready to fall out) hair. Apply a vitamin E (wait I think it's vitamin E) oil of some sort to the roots of your hair to strengthen if you want. Keep washing gently every couple of days (can't help you with what to use here; I only ever use Simple) to make it look better for a while. Get it trimmed regularly until all the burnt hair is gone.

0 all over is the way to go. A bottle of shampoo lasts me for months and keeps my beautiful bald antelope of a head shining brighter than a rare shiny charizard.

If you wanna wash your hair every night, take new shampoo and conditioner bottles and take half out and put the other half in different bottles. Then fill the bottles up with water and make sure it's thoroughly mixed.
Trick I picked up from one of Bobbi Brown's books because the shampoo/conditioner is much more diluted so doesn't damage your hair.
My bottle of tresemme shampoo lasts me months! Don't use loads of it makes your hair real dry we got told to use the amount of a 50p coin when doing clients hair

Shouldn't a short trim work? That's what I do when mine is starting to go frizzy.
