Hello,
I've been trying to locate the whereabouts of these items in the hotel and working on compiling a list for the Habbox Wiki (found here) (http://habboxwiki.com/Arcane_Rares). Does anyone know where they can find any of the following items of furniture or know anyone who owns them?
Amber Floor Rug (http://habboxwiki.com/Amber_Floor_Rug)
Army Plasto Chair (http://habboxwiki.com/Army_Plasto_Chair)
Infobus Poster (http://habboxwiki.com/Infobus_(Furni))
poster_0_name (http://habboxwiki.com/Poster_0_name)
'Zon' Parasol (http://habboxwiki.com/Parasol)
Thanks :-)

Hey sorry this doesnt answer your thread directly but in regards to the poster_0_name it ALSO exists because some old posters (much like the "comedy poster") were effectively deleted from the hotel and users were left with that as a result, this was a very long time ago though.

Hey sorry this doesnt answer your thread directly but in regards to the poster_0_name it ALSO exists because some old posters (much like the "comedy poster") were effectively deleted from the hotel and users were left with that as a result, this was a very long time ago though.
I was under this impression originally too, that the poster_0_name was the remnants of some deleted poster from way back. However I don't think this is the case. I will take this time to discuss how I think they came about. Hope you are sitting comfortably.
Pre-marketplace all posters were added under a single ID in the furnidata, <furnitype id="4001" classname="poster">. Then I believe the individual posters are then defined by a row of text in the product data, for example ["poster_1000","Comedy Poster","The Noble and Silver Show"]. Yes the Comedy Poster is still in the data, it wasn't deleted - but replaced. In earlier versions of the Hotel the Comedy Poster was originally ID 1 in the productdata, so we assume that it was indeed the first poster. However in V7 the IDs changed for and the Ancestor Poster replaced the Comedy Poster as ID 1 in the productdata. This meant that any existing Comedy Posters would change into Ancestor posters, in effect 'deleting them'. (read more) (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=462343)
Going a little off topic here, but this original way of adding posters proved problematic when the marketplace was released. Since all of the posters were added under a single furni ID, the market treated them all the same when it came to their averages, trade volumes etc. This is why posters such as the Infobus have impossibly high trade graphs, because it uses the combined data from all the old posters under ID 4001. New posters have since been added straight into the furnidata to avoid this problem.
Now going on to the the poster_0_name. When you select old posters on the Habbo iPad app, they appear in the poster_x_name format for some technical reason. For example the Himalaya Poster (poster ID 15) would appear as poster_15_name etc. So you could assume that because the poster_0_name is called so, it was once a poster with ID 0. Though not exactly true.
I noticed that the loading box is different for the new posters and old posters. Old posters stored in the productdata load like a 3D black box, much like how floor furniture does. Whereas the new posters in the furnidata have a flat 2D loading box, like the poster_0_name. We had already established that the poster_0_name has the furni ID 4001, then found out that it lacks that second ID the other old posters have to define them. Without this its just displays the flat loading box and takes its generic name.
Though how did such an item come about?
After talking to NotMiceElf about this he said that it 'shouldn't exist' and I would guess is most likely a result from scripting, similar to how the Army Plasto came about. I don't believe there are any plans to remove this either, as that would probably involve deleting ID 4001 and relocating all the old posters somehow..
Thanks for reading :-)

You might as well be the Sherlock Holmes of solving historical inconsistencies of Habbo furniture. Love what you're doing here with tracking + preserving old school intricacies like this.
I can see the skepticism in an item that doesn't load. As theres a level of cool factor and 'collectible' appeal to a poster like this that simply looks like a glitch, there's also a huge risk factor of Habbo correcting this error and simply removing them from the server at some future point??
Just some thoughts.

Haha thanks! :-) Although I love the elusiveness and the sense of mystery surrounding this poster and other such items, somebody needed to get to the bottom of it and find out what it actually was. So many different stories floating around, its a bit of an Urban Legend.
I can understand your concern about the possibility of it being removed in the future. Though I have a certain reason to suspect that it won't ever happen. I believe this because Habbo has consistently mainly focused on bringing out new features and new furniture and have a terrible track record of fixing and maintaining items they released even a few years ago. There are a plethora of anomalies ranging from incorrect Info-Matic icons for the ICMs and Fans to ‘Greep Carp’.
The only way I can see the poster_0_name disappearing is if they actually confiscate them from our accounts, a practice they haven’t done with scripted furniture for many years now. This is because they would find it very challenging to dissect it from the data. In order to erase poster_0_name they would need to delete ID 4001, which also acts as a reference point for all the other posters added between 2001 and 2010. So I logically if ID 4001 gets removed, it would effect majority of the posters on Habbo. Unless the devs have a way of actually changing all the posters in-client to point to a different set of data, I think this will either be impossible or too time consuming.
As NotMiceElf said, ‘posters suck’!

Absolutely fantastic work Harry! I personally don't have any more information to add on this subject, however I wish you all the best in trying to get to the bottom of the origins of these rares. If you need any assistance, please contact me :] +rep
If you enjoy researching things like this, I am trying to compile a group of writings for our Articles Department with this sort of information!
If you feel up to writing a guest article on your pursuing of "habbo history" and "artifacts" (let's be real, with the amount of hidden furni in the hotel, there could be a lot of discovering) then you are more than welcome to send me one.
If you decide to, I'd be able to post it for ya on the front of habbox.com. :)
Your post was very in depth and a great read. Sometimes you forget about these sort of things until some one posts about them. :)

I know what you mean. I’ve managed to track down eight of them and published a list on the wiki, some of the owners have had it since it was the original white parasol elcarz. I have pinpointed an approximate date it was added (mid-2007 at the latest), though it is appearing to be more puzzling than the poster to solve. If Sulake didn’t erase the habbo.ca articles from before the merge it would shed some more light on how it came about. I’ve heard there were sightings on .co.uk, .sg and original .com too, but there is no solid evidence of this. Though this Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGpZ78x2MAA) confirms that it was at least on Habbo.ca and was white up until 2009. HotelEmo (the user in the video) is still active on .com but chooses to appear offline. Efforts to contact him have been in vain.. :-(
I was reading through some old threads about the Parasol and found this this thread from 2012 (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=753920). I noticed that you were a major contributor in it, and so were some of the other people that have viewed this page. Its interesting to read about its glitchy past and this echoes exactly what I have heard from past owners and .ca veterans.
I have looked in the externals of other hotels and discovered an equivalent of the Zon is present on all of them that I’ve checked, but they’re not necessarily in circulation. For example on the Spanish Hotel they have an rare green parasol. But contrary to public opinion this is different from the Zon on .com. It’s identical as our normal green one (id="289”) but is called the ‘Sombrilla Verde’ instead. This has led to substantial confusion.
However a 5th Parasol exists in the .es gamedata with a similar ID to our Zon. This is their equivalent of our Ultra Rare Parasol, not the ‘Sombrilla Verde’.

Yeah, its a shame these intriguing items disappear into obscurity and the average person never hears of them. I will take you up on your offer of a guest article or two on the origins of some of these items, maybe it will make them more known among users and increase their popularity. I will work on an article when I have some spare time (and after some more research) and send it to you.

Yes, there still seems to be some ambiguity as to when they first appeared. Though by examining the furnidata and looking at what was added before and after the Zon (ID 2122) we can get an estimation as to when it was added, but not necessarily when it was released. Everything added between IDs 2106 and 2121 were Romantique furniture which did not feature until V12 in 2007. Then there were a few Valentines items (suggesting that this might have been early 2007), then followed a mix of items released that year and more Romantique before starting to see some Habbowood items for September 2007. So I'm pretty certain it wasn't around in 2006.

I had a Zon! parasol a couple of years ago and sold it to a friend. He doesn't play often anymore, but I've left him a couple of messages in hopes that he sees it in soon.... I'ma get that parasol back omg.
Basically what happened was they gave out parasols with the purchase of credits.... there was a coding error (the paras were silver for a couple of days), then they made then non-tradable and you can no longer open/close them; they're stuck in their position foreveerrrrrr.
Also they certainly came out AFTER 2007... more like summer 2008! I'm positive of that because I had the glitch when I bought it (and I didn't start playing til 2007)

Oh wow! Can you see if he has it in any of his rooms?
Interesting, I had never thought about it being given out as part of purchase of credits. Was it anything to do with a Credit Action campaign? Because thats how some Rares such as the Gold Plasma gate was released, or was it just buying a certain amount of credits? I would have thought there would have been more of them around in this case.
The Youtube video in my earlier post was from 2009 and it was still white then, yet there are some account of it only being white for a short while.. Weird that they would release another green parasol though, surely it would have made more sense to keep it as white? They fixed the glitch about it being stuck 2 years ago and its fine now thankfully - and its tradable.
Best of luck trying to find this one! :-)

It was a long time ago, so I may be mistaken about how long it was white! However, I'm almost 100% certain I got the parasol for buying credits from Shoppers Drug Mart or Walmart hahahah! He does have it in a room, but it's locked. You have to go through a tele in one of his other rooms to get to it. See the picture below!

Saw the room and added it to the owners list on the wiki. Thanks :-)
Was it originally like how it was in this Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGpZ78x2MAA)? With no icon and it having the same name and description as the normal one? I wonder why they would intend to give out a slightly different Green Parasol. A white one would have been a much more appealing gift!
Also when they came out do you remember these Parasols being quite common at the time? Because I believe there were slightly similar credit campaigns going on at roughly the same time across most hotels, and the Rares obtained from them are considerably more common now compared to the Zon.
Though maybe the amount given out was limited in a similar way the Aqua Slurpee (http://www.habboxwiki.com/Aqua_Slurpee_Machine) was during the 7-Eleven campaign. How that worked was users had to redeem a Habbo prepaid card bought from a 7-Eleven and hope they were one of 7 daily winners of the machine. This seems feasible but there are probably over 10 times more Aqua Slurpees than there are Zons, so they could have made it more unlikely to win a Parasol from redeeming a prepaid card - which would explain why so few are around now. Does this sound vaguely familiar to you?
I guess it would be fitting for them to release a Parasol during the summer :P

Yes! It looked exactly like how it looked in the youtube video, with the "No Icon" ... I can't quite remember if the description was different or not. I remember the "glitched" paras were only given out for a few hours - that's why they're so rare! After that short period of time, they put the gifting on hold and fixed the glitch before resuming the gifting process.
No, I definitely remember the green parasol was a guaranteed gift for purchasing the prepaid card; you didn't have to be a lucky winner.

Thanks Zak! :-)
I asked in room and apparently it is ActiveZ. that owns both of them. They have now been recorded on the owners list.

I saw another one in some guys rare shop earlier (sorry the name escapes me)
Curious to know though how you know if a user still has the item or not? It's easy with my pink dragon search as they all have numbers.. but if say I sell mine to some guy and you record that one as well.. and you don't know about mine.. that's 2 recorded but only 1 infobus :(

I think that's the same shop I saw one in, again I forgot the name. I went in the other day and asked about his Streets Of Bobba Guitar unfortunately it wasn't for sale, but there was an Infobus there.

I actually just saw that one too, owned by ::PLYER:: in his rare shop.
Good question - the answer is that I am friends with all the Infobus owners, and also with all of the active owners of the other items I record. So it is remarkably easy to keep tabs on where they all are, given the small number of them. I try and make sure there are no duplicates by checking with any new owners I find where they got theirs from. A lot of the current owners know about the list, so they usually message me if they have passed theirs on, and to who. I also check the rooms every so often to see if they are still there.
What makes it slightly more challenging with the pink dragon is that there are 80 of them - if there were that many Infobuses I would struggle!

Managed to find a rare rug in sierk;'s room. Turns out he has a museum and in his rugs room he has a yellow one which is actually the amber one :P. Let's hope if he comes back he realises. Also found another Army Plasto Chair by searching Super Rares on the navigator and going in the first room I found. There are a lot more of them than I thought, it's a shame there aren't as many active ones.

Great find! Thank you for updating the wiki with the new examples, as I was struggling to find where his rug was before I noticed you had :P
Also I saw you changed the poster_0_name owner list. Congratulations on getting one! :-)

I came across an archive of old habbo.ca articles (http://web.archive.org/web/20080919180952/http://www.habbo.ca/articles/category/credit_promo) from 2008 and these particular ones caught my eye. Unfortunately the actual content of them were not accessible. Though these articles were posted at roughly the same time the Zon was added into the furnidata, making it more likely that it had something to do with this campaign.

However I did manage to find some exact details about this on a Spanish fansite (https://habtium.es/news/1832/ca-eb-games-te-regala-un-parasol-verde). Apparently you were given a Green Parasol if you bought a $10 Habbo Scratch Card (worth 50 credits) from EB Games between 19th - 25th May. So you were right, that they originated from a forgotten credit promotion over 6 years ago - they just must have given out the wrong parasol for a very short time by accident.
Mystery solved! :-)

Came across this old fansite news page from 2003 with images of a white parasol. There are also some other interesting articles about other rares being released at the time. I believe this is from Habbo UK.

Amazing that it has survived there for all those years. Good find.
Finding old websites would be a real insight and really help improve the content on the wiki. I might have a search later.
I wish I could remember all the things from Habbo I did 10 years ago! :P
