What are you views on artists copying previous songs or redoing a already released songs....
A dance remix was brought out of Alice Cooper - Poisen one of my all time fav songs.
Somebody turned The Killers - Somebody Told Me Dance
The orignal Waiting for a Star To Fall sung by Boy Meets Girl was released, now if you sing it people think you listen to dance music.
Most people actually think these songs are original, i hate copys, a few people have tried to rerelease Queen which i cant stand...
G4 tried and failed

Copies just sound wrong there never as good as the originals, but there are exeptions I think like Green Day with I Faught The Law. But when Avril Lavigne did Green Day's Basket Case That sound Awful. Dunno if this makes any sense. Oh Well!

I think Greenday absolutely killed I Fought The Law but meh, just my opinion.

I think these copy artists try to be as good and say 'omg i just love (the opriginal artist) he/she/they are my idol' but they try do it. I for one respect artists who write there own songs.

No Doubt's It's My Life is better than Talk Talk's IMO. The drums in Talk Talk's sound like a suitcase

i like depeche mode's personal jesus, but not mansons newer version.

You would say that though, wouldn't you? Let's not start another argument.
Covers are generally cra'p nowadays. Especially those god damn dance covers, they really **** me off. Dance DJ's automatically kill a rock song when they cover it with their decks.
I agree with you there Joey. Classics should be left alone unless the artists covering the song is extremely good. Manson's done a good job covering Personal Jesus and Tainted Love (There's probably others), even though i'm not a big fan of his. He made the songs his.
An artist that should never be covered is Nirvana. Unfortunately Evanescence did, god, that s'ucked so bad.
I'm not fully against artists covering songs, but I am against dance DJ's "remixing" songs.
Anyway, my favourite cover of all time is Jimi Hendrix - All along the watchtower, even though the original was amazing.

I agree, artists try not to mess with rocks they coundnt pull of... kurt cobain is too well loved to be copyed. People would pull off Queen either, many have tried in tribute concerts but no-one (accept G4) have never released one.

The Freddy Mercury tribute concert was great. Queen aren't difficult to cover, but few people actually do 'cause Freddy was such a loved character. Same with Cobain.

Your kidding me aint ya, most people fail because they havnt got freddies enthusasiem and energy... maybe the songs are easy but how you sing them... even elton john and george michael, david bowie all good performers couldnt pull it off... EJ singing the show must go on, david bowie singing under pressure and GM singing somebody to love. They sung it well but not to freddie standard. But many wouldnt see that unless you love Queen, like yours truely.

Well obviously nobody/not many people can get Freddies energy into the song, but I mean the songs are umm easily accessed as they are classics if you get me. I mean, anyone with drums and a guitar can do We Will Rock You, but never as good as Freddie. See what I mean now? I thought Axl Rose and Elton John's duet in Bohemian Rhapsody was great but Axl's performance in We Will Rock You wasn't too great.

Indeed. Also, what happened the Queen bassist? I've never seen him play with Brian May and the drummer...is he dead?

He also copied Sweet Dreams, originally by Annie Lennox. I prefer Annie Lennox but Manson's is okay.

Alot of people say that - John Deacon isnt dead but distances himself from the band... I'm unsure why and it isnt because he doesnt like them, he's always been abit like that... in the song No-One But You both Brian and Roger sing but John tends not to (the song about Freddies song and is very sad - its also about princess diana)

Maybe he finds it hard to deal with the loss of Freddie. Bassists aren't often recognised and maybe he felt left out and almost forgotten. The death of a band member makes people do strange things. For example, Dave Grohl (Nirvana drummer) refused to go to Cobain's funeral. He was just too upset. I dunno.

Maybe, but he still does some Queen stuff like the play 'We Will Rock You' but cause he has a family he just doesnt see the point, like in the amarillo video, peter kay marchs with brian and roger but john isnt there.
