Apple and Google have announced they will be making encryption default from now on with users who don't want it having to turn it off. This doesn't come a surprise especially after the number of nude photo leaks that's recently been in the news. The problem has been that most didn't know encryption existed and as it was turned off by default this meant it was never turned on.

I think this is a great idea. While companies certainly should promote safety/security most don't listen until its too late and want everything done for them so this is a good move.
