View Full Version : Would you betray someone you care about for...

Would you abandon a friend/family member, that you obviously care about, out of your life PERMANENTLY for £1,000,000?
You wouldn't be able to give them any of the money or be in contact with them whatsoever. And it has to be a person you do care about and still see, not any random friend or family member you don't like or see anymore.
If so, who would it? E.g. your brother, best friend, whatever.
THE POLL IS NOT PUBLIC SO YOU CAN BE HONEST!

Yes.
I have quite a few family I suppose I 'care' about but haven't seen for 10 years, so another 90 wouldn't bother me.

It's meant to be someone you do truly care about and maybe see each other more often than every decade! :P
Most people yes. About 2 people , probably not

I don't think I could, no.
I always regard loyalty as one of my key characteristics.
Inseriousity.

Yes, probably my brother, I care about him but my life wouldn't change too much if he weren't around (then again he went on holiday for a week and the house was way too quiet so maybe that'd be a case of not knowing what you've got til it's gone).

Absolutely not. It's a lot of money but I could never do that to someone I really care for.

But £1mil.
Say you live until you're 90 and the avg user is 18, that's 72 years of your life that you'd have an addition £13,889 approx (added to your income, ignoring the fact you'd most likely invest it either via stocks or cash ISA's/savings accounts and gain an additional 10k a year)
If you did have it in a savings account you'd probably get 1.5% annual interest approx (which is about 15k a year).
Some people could live off that (without even having it in savings).

I would argue if your answer was yes for some ppl and no for others, you don't care enough about ppl you would betray to get the money.
There are only 2 people I truly care about and of course i could never do it for them

There's plenty of family I could do it to. I'm not close to them so I couldn't care less. I probably wouldn't to my parents and brothers, but that's about it for family. In addition to that, there's probably only 2 or 3 others I consider close enough to be worth more than what I'd get :P

you would still care about them, just care more for the other members + £1mil than you care for them.
