View Full Version : [Article] If HC Sofas could talk

Hey,
So someone asked me if I could do one for HC sofas, and I didn't think it would get this sad, but my article actually speaks truth as so how the HC sofa was a key factor in HC subscriptions, but now has been so obsolete that they are almost forgotten:

Oh, I'm sorry, you must of not seen me there. Not many people seem to remember me anymore. Yes, I was a very popular item of furniture as I was the first thing you'd receive when you entered into the life of HC. *sigh* Not a lot of people have time for me anymore, and due to me being an awkward colour, I am not used as much as I was before.
My name is HC Sofa. I was introduced into this place called, "Habbo" back in 2002 when the HC subscription was readily available at a whomping price of 25 coins. I was the biggest hit back then. I, in my prime, was worth over 10 coins and I was sold by the dozen, and on special occasions you would see hundreds of me being sold!
http://habboxwiki.com/wiki/images/9/9e/Club_Sofa.gifSadly, with Habbo updating frequently and version 12 coming along, my prime was during 2002 until 2013 when they revived the HC gifts and sadly took me out to give way for the newer gifts that were available each month. As you can think I was not happy. The only reason people remember me was because of the HC memberships. I am not really known anymore. After the merge happened, the price of me scrapped around to around 3 coins, making it the peak right now since the merge.
I don't know how much longer I can hold on with being swept under the rug. I am not too sure if people even remember me! These new habbos don't even have time for me anymore! What should I do?

What do you feel the HC sofa should do? What do you think about HC sofas now?
Have you felt like they have become obsolete in the world of Habbo?

I thought HCs were worth little below the rate of membership (25 Coins) and they really got destroyed by the introduction of coins, which imo was a REALLY GOOD idea :)

Cub Sofa* :P. I'd actually say their prime time ended when coins were released imo, and as Zak; said they were worth over 20c beforehand iirc. After coins being released they slowly fell and eventually ended up about 5c pre-merge I think? Then after the merge they went down further.

Before the merge they played the fundamental role in my rare grabber, and I earnt a lot from operating it but then the merge meant everything I'd invested in crashed and no one wanted to use my grabber anymore! I can't remember the last time I saw a Club Sofa though.

I remember though when they used to be called HC sofas.. That's what I used to refer them to. It's crazy what the introduction of one item has done with another.

I still like HC sofa's actually, alot of the old HC membership furni was actually worth having, unlike the rubbish we get these days :/.

I still love HC sofas, I remember when they were basically the currency of Habbo lol, if you wanted a throne - x amount of HCs rather than credits

Yeah - in casinos if somebody put in some petals or something, and asked what they would win, you would say something like "back + 2 pure"

Eh? I remember them being like 12-14c for a long time on the UK. They fell to 10c as soon as the merge was announced, and then as it came it lowered right down to 7c, then 5c, then 2c and so on.

(this is from my own memory of the events, I guess I'm wrong though? :()

As far as I'm aware, it was the merge that made me lose my richness on habbo hotel--all I practically had was HC sofas!

I thought they started falling because a lot of people were rigging to get the price down (i.e. i went into trade city and saw a lot of people selling bulk HCs at a much lower price than valued), cant remember if before or after merge.

I believe it was after merge.

Price for club sofas fell before the merge, which was also before 2013...

Oh yeah maybe it was 10c pre-merge? (A) Maybe someone can check the Habbox rv chart for it!

Yeah 10c was a pretty standard price pre-merge I believe, max I remember them trading at was 14-15c per on the Uk hotel.

A very nice article!

When I first joined Habbo back in 05 a friend gave me one of these as my first item of furni and I fell in love with it!
