Basically my Galaxy s3 has been weird for a few months.

Sometimes my lock screen time gets stuck. Basically I'll look at my phone and see its 5.50 and then open my phone. Sometimes it will suddenly jump to 5.55, as if it was stuck on the last time I viewed. Sometimes it won't update straight away either.

The problem is I work mornings and sometimes don't realise it's not showing the correct time so I can be running late and not realise.

Any idea what could cause this?

All mobile phones get their time from each phone network, they sync their times to the atomic clock. If the individual phones kept their own time it would crash the entire network because every transmission is time coded for delivery purposes. You can try enabling airplane mode for a few seconds, and then turning it off. That cuts the phone signal off and then when you disable airplane mode, the phone will automatically search for close signal towers and then display the correct time. Are you running a lot of widgets? You can try downloading Watchdog, that will monitor and point out any rouge apps you may have that .

It never used to do this though - i do have a few widgets for news and stuff but it used to run fine. It's just not realising that the time has changed. Will try watchdog

Mine started doing the same after the last update a good few months ago, I think it's aimed at saving power somehow by only updating it when the device receives user input.

Otherwise my S3 has been really terribly slow in the last few months, tempted to do a factory reset to see if that helps.
