I was thinking about this earlier..

What would you rather:

1) Pay a one off fee at the start then pay no or little later on..
2) Continue the way it is..

Just a little thought on what other people think..

One-off fees never make any money in the current economic climate, hence almost every single game having DLC and microtransactions, even on "free games". I'd pay coins to remove those silly ads that come up at the top of the screen sometimes when you load a room though.

Also if everybody had access to the same game habbo wouldn't get stale fast. The fact that a lot of users are restricted with what they can do, create, and wear, leaves a larger gap for those with the funds needed to do so. Let's use builder's club as an example. Pre-BC people would shop for hours for their required items, they'd spend hours building rooms with whatever they could get their hands on, and they'd be proud of their creations afterwards. Now that a (semi)one-off payment allows access to a vast array of furniture, people don't need to spend as much time on the game to build extravagant rooms but there's a discourse around BC rooms that seems to suggest that because the furniture was 'free' it's not creative and it's not an accomplishment. There's a sense that the restriction of having to search and purchase items for rooms makes them more creative when they're finished.

I'd keep it as it is because I think Sulake would be more beneficial keeping their current system. I doubt they'd make as much money with only one fee at the start.
