Nah that's not the change I meant obv.
Ok so lottery returning, yay. It was noted that there were a few changes which as far as I can see is just limiting tickets to 10 20 per person and doing rerolls instead of rollovers (both of which I have no objection to) but if there's more that's different from the last time do let me know. Overall fab that the idea was not only listened to and discussed but acted on quickly, glad to see it back and here's hoping that we can look forward to better client funding in the near future woopwoop and everyone go buy tickets or I'll hit you.
There's also staff-wide permission to host events now, which is another step in the right direction in my view. I think for the present at least that people outside the actual events team should be required to fund their own prizes furni-wise so as not to leave the entire department defunct, and as far as I can tell this is currently the case simply because it's not been noted as otherwise anywhere that I can see. That brings me to another point - what I can see. At the moment I have access to the staff scheduling forum which is I'm assuming down to the merit/ex-staff usergroup being counted as a type of staff group. If that was intended then fab and I'll probably make use of it at times because it sounds like a laugh and I like to support the site/community, but if not then there's a heads up that some people who aren't staff at the moment have access to that.
PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ON EARTH YOU THINK ABOUT THIS SITUATION PEOPLE

I approve of FJ being able to run hilarious events.
If it's allowed, then great. If you haven't checked with staff that it is ok to run, then I hope habbox aren't gonna be penalised in any way for doing it, and I also wouldn't want to be advertising a lottery on the client.

I hope that Habbox Merit users are allowed to host events, you may get people like MissAlice and Tom hosting which I think can only be good for the community.
So also with this new change, who needs to be in events anymore? Scrap the events Deparment.

This is something I've been thinking and from what I hear it hasn't been

Technically there is no change to the main lottery, which was always rerolled, fixed prize of 100c, 20 tickets limit. The only difference is the removal of the dream number which did have rollovers when it wasn't won, 4 numbers instead of 3 and a 50c increase in the prize each month it wasn't won (starting at 50c).
I don't think it's really necessary to include it though. It might be a good idea to see how successful the managers are at selling these tickets before they add another one. The good thing about the dream number is that you can't 'sell out' in the way the main lottery can so if the managers are good at selling them quickly (the record is 3 days), it might be worth looking into to maximise profits.

i doubt they have, they just brought it back avoiding the rule really. although I imagine it would be easy to get the people banned for selling tickets if you report them.

why bother with staff

The main thread is poorly worded, implying that you can only buy exactly 20 tickets for the lottery.
I'm working on a funding system for the Events Department atm that will be funded by me which will include credits and furni bundles that can be used for prizes, but yes it will only be given to those within the department rather than everyone who hosts. :)
In other news you can now see who has updated your post report!! ;)

Can whoever changed the post report instead have the background of each row green or red (red = open, green = closed) so you can get rid of 'Status'

No, it was a massive faff to add that column.

why was it decided to change the limit to 20?

I think it's been 10 and 20 at some point. I originally set it to 10 but have since upped it to 20. We'll see how that goes.
Also, merit users being able to access the scheduling forum wasn't intentional to begin with, but after being approached by Rosy this afternoon we have decided to let merit users host events so long as they have a good reputation and a relatively clean record.

Just to confirm, are we (as managers) going to be okay advertising this on the client? Did you approach Habbo regarding the way of going around it? I just don't want managers getting reported and permed for gambling or something haha! I guess it all comes down to how we word it on there too really as "would anyone like lottery tickets" could be misinterpreted by mods? idk haha xD

Afaik they haven't talked to staff and just used a workaround method, so if you mention it you'll probably be banned

Well it depends whether somebody reports you as somebody who has actually posted in this thread did earlier today. Habbo haven't been contacted about it, so just word it carefully if you want to advertise on client.

it's good, but it seems rather risky.
i can't imagine sulake will be happy about this if they find out, no matter how you word or do it with slight differences.

as if i would do anything!!
but I mean in general if they're going about 'want to buy a ticket for lottery' it'll probably be picked up on quick and others will prob report too just to chance it.

It's something you would totally do! And I'd perm ban anyone from hxhd (where the bulk of the tickets will probs be sold) that deliberately tried to get managers perm banned 'just to chance it' from hxhd for an hour then the day and so on every time they did if it were up to me.

You couldn't prove anyone was doing it though unless they turned to you then told you afterwards and even then isn't breaking the rules of the help desk.
Doing that just opens it up to banning people for any reason.
Inseriousity.

That's true but people deliberately baiting managers into incriminating themselves is slightly different and visible for all to see. Rules can also be changed.

Remember, you don't 'buy' tickets
But yeah, a good step in a good direction imo

The lottery is a good way forward... But I cannot see Sulake taking it the right way?
If if someone says 'Do you want to buy a lottery ticket' someone will report and they'll be banned. If anyone with the official fansite badge says it, we have our status at risk?
saying 'Do you want to donate in exchange for a lottery ticket' neither sounds right. But maybe Sulake will take it they right way!

If Sulake took issue you could always just charge for entry to the room and give away tickets once they're inside.

@Wispur (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=55895);
Can we have www.habbox.com/lottery to redirect to the main lotto thread to make things easier to find?
At the moment it links to a thread from 2012 :P

I'd suggest keeping tickets etc purely on the forum.
So want to buy a ticket? VM an appropriate person and they can do it, rather than mentioning anything on client as someone at some point will get banned.

This is what I do purely to make things easier, obviously do the deal on forum but then they send me the numbers by vm.
