Why?
When will it be back?

On your profile page (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=67954) there used to be Post Areas which showed how many posts you had in each forum category.
There used to be a feature where you could see how many times you had posted in each section, it was attached to your profile. Phil

Wispur; told me it wouldn't be back, any clarification as to why as it did make a nice addition to some pages on the Wiki and it was good to see where we'd posted.

Why?
We now use the default vBulletin search. The other search system had post areas built into it.
When will it be back?
Never - Unless someone creates their own separate plugin for it.

i got the impression in the last search thread that it was a feature of the search system that was removed, and won't be back because habbox isn't paying to renew a license.
edit; and matt confirms it.

It is used a lot tbh, especially for Content Design purposes.
Inseriousity.

lmao more like used only by content designers and the occasional use whenever someone remembered it existed.

Only used in content design because for some bizarre reason people have gotten in the habit of putting pointless information on wiki pages.

isn't that essentially the point in personal wiki pages on habbox
what meaningful info can you actually put regarding a person on habbox...

The point of those pages is to aggregate difficult to aggregate information. Things like awards, forum specific post counts etc. shouldn't be on wiki pages as they're readily supplied and aggregated by the forum itself. Information that might be relevant are specific dates (Helpful as they're a pain to source due to name changes) but also adding historical context to their actions and roles. There is a big reason why I instigated a manager's only rule (With very few exceptions) for person specific wiki pages on the wiki, it was a very rough guide as to what constitutes relevant information.
Not every wiki page needs to be a 5000 word biopic, if someone lead a very uninteresting managerial career then it should be a short page.

Yet when you were my manager you told us pages should be at least longer than this page (http://habboxwiki.com/Sulake)?
The Post Areas were only for the Habbox Gods (apart from a couple) before it was changed, therefore it was only really present on around 4 of them. I don't necessarily mean it needs to be on, but there are short pages then there are some not even worthy of it because of how little information there is. They could be compiled into one, but it fell into the 'few exceptions' bit you mentioned when you were manager.

that page is horribly out of date past the 2010 section and considering it's the company responsible for creating the game the wiki is about that is worrying. the wiki should focus more on the game than the people of habbox but I want a better wiki page somebody write an essay about me pls

It has been updated a few times in the last year just over, I guess no one else has noticed the incorrect information. One of the priority tasks I gave to staff was to update old and outdated pages, if they've clicked the old pages list I can see why Sulake wouldn't have come up near the top!
On the other hand, we also have personal tasks given to members of staff, so this can include either the Habbox side of the Wiki (i.e. manager pages, tournaments etc.) or the Habbo, company, misc. side too. I'm sure your page will be edited if it's out of date or incorrect though. I might have a check on it as yo're one of the people who do have a history on fansites such as HabboForum so really that should be on!

yup we're gonna sort it, the name changes thread used to be in Content forum and I'm not sure why it isn't any more :P Bringing it back as we speak so it can get sorted. Although we do like people to contribute a bit about their history and things for the rest of the page so it's more accurate, personal and longer!

I suggest you think before posting, how do you think Habbox gets new features, they make them then test them.

then they remove them from public pages, because leaving inaccurate information in public view is stupid, stupid.

god knows how many other names I've gone by but most had their name changed to galaxay at the time (so I had galaxay1 galaxay. etc lol which were all banned) so should be under galaxay or habbic for everything i think

Its not inaccurate information as its a Userpage not a fact page. People can lie, its like if Chris says on someones VM your now x manager, its not always true?
scottish
03-01-2015, 04:29 PM
It is inaccurate information as it's completely wrong............................................. .................................................. ...................................... (have you got the point yet or do i need more?)
Publishing a wiki page (especially when you're supposed to work for it) is completely different to VMing someone a joke..

User pages aren't really public pages though, AFAIK they don't come up on "Random Page" searches and many users on larger wikis use their pages for tests as well. If someone was to go on there though it could be confusing, but it's a user page, quite a lot of them have really odd stuff on that's just used for testing.
Maybe it'd be clearer if people who do use their pages for testing write a line saying that at the top. Is that OK with you, -Nick;?

User pages are by rule fully under the control of the user except in extreme cases (Profanity, racism etc.), if someone wants to state on their user page that they're general manager then that's ok - only if they put it on a page in the Main namespace is it an issue.

Testing should go on sub-pages e.g.
