i really found this show hard to get into at first but season two has been amazing in my opinion, anybody else watch? thoughts on the second seasons midseason finale? i will post synopsis/trailers for s1 and 2 for those who don't know about it!! watch it it's so good

When nuclear Armageddon destroys civilization on Earth, the only survivors are those on the 12 international space stations in orbit at the time. Three generations later, the 4,000 survivors living on a space ark of linked stations see their resources dwindle and face draconian measures established to ensure humanity's future. Desperately looking for a solution, the ark's leaders send 100 juvenile prisoners back to the planet to test its habitability. Having always lived in space, the exiles find the planet fascinating and terrifying, but with the fate of the human race in their hands, they must forge a path into the unknown.

i think s2 has been SO strong and its willing to go dark places and do things to keep it interesting!! the reapers are an amazing addition even though they are quite scary tbh

lincoln as a reaper was scary, i really wanna know why mount weather are making them though???? i don't get what they would get from it

this show is one of my favourite shows ever holy heck it's like Lost mixed with Revolution mixed with the hunger games and it works so well
i can't wait to see how raven and clarke's relationship plays out in the next few episodes considering that clarke ignored what raven told her to do to the grounder leader and just went straight ahead and killed finn instead

i must be the only one who didn't expect finn's death. i thought it was foreshadowig raven's death with the flashbacks and i was so ******* surprised, i love clarke and how she has really rose to leadership and will do what has to be done even if it meant sacrificing something she loved. she has came a long way and it's amazing. i could go on but i don't want to bore you, the repercussions will be interesting to see, it's a game changer tbh

It's really annoying how Lexa is pretty much controlling Clarke, she's still quite vulnerable after what happened with Finn but I dunno, Clarke really is getting on my **** STAND UP FO YOSELF WOMAN. Plus Bellamy is gonna be piiiiissed when he founds out that Clarke didn't evacuate and also because she didn't tell him Octavia was in Ton DC

Octavia is being badass. Clarke is being annoying, but so is her mother, yet it's to be expected. I feel bad for Raven all the time, I'm glad Lincoln is back again. I'm undecided about Lexa, sometimes I hate her and sometimes I love her. It's cool to see everyone to start accepting each other. We just need the mountain action to start properly.
That bloody gorilla still scares me

A lot (and that's an understatement) of people are pissed right now about the last minute betrayal of Lexa and her Grounder army. She basically condemned the 45 inside mount weather (+ Raven, Wick and Abby's group it seems) to an ignominous death, and let the Mount Weather people off scot free after what had seemed to be decades of exploitation of her own people.

All that to save, what, 100 or so grounders locked inside?

Warning: LONG @SS POST

To put some perspective on things, here are a few reminders of events so far concerning the situation at hand:

- We have learned that Reapers are actually Grounders that were captured and subjected to torture and mind control via drugs. This has been going on for a long time apparently.
- The Moutain people have abducted and killed (directly or via Reapers) what is probably hundreds of grounders across the years (we know that the Mount Weather people have been there for 97 years)
- Lexa owes the Sky people about the ability to de-tox and free Reapers, and their entire alliance relies (at first at least) on that.
- Lexa had no qualms about Anya losing 300 of her people in the war against the Sky people (just wasn't really happy about it), and no qualms about losing 250 of her people in the TonDC attack. Losses to her are inconsequential if it's about winning in the long term.
- A saying of Grounders is "Blood will have Blood", which means that if someone kills your own, you will kill them back.
- Lexa has admitted having feelings for Clarke, which are shared to an extent (how much, we do not know)
- The Mount Weather people have no problem striking villages with missiles to anyone who might be a threat. They did it before (at least twice that we know), and can obviously do it again.
- They lost communication with the only person (Bellamy) who could have told them wether the hostages would be safe or not.
- Mount Weather has spotters/ snipers who observe situations at all times.

All of that to say: The betrayal makes little sense -in appearance-.

Now, put yourself in the place of Clarke or Lexa, and try to project the battle for the next day on the eve before that happened.
They planned it really well, for a long time. And you know what? Even with their entire plan, something was obvious from the get go, that there was an enormous flaw with the main objective being freeing their people inside:

There was no way that their people inside would be let go safely just by them breaching the doors.

In fact, in all logic, when an armed force storms a fortress to rescue hostages, what happens is that said hostages are placed in direct line of fire and used as tools to make the invader back off, killing them one after another if needed.
On top of that, it was going to be an enormously bloody affair.

Imagine this: advancing a force of barbarians in cramped corridors, facing well trained troops with massive firepower who have no doubt prepared some nice choke points to mow down invaders.

So, what do you do?

It's all conjectures from here, but already around the mid-point of the episode I was thinking: From the Mountain people's perspective, their only chance (in the long term) is to divide the attackers. Make them turn on each other if possible, and if not, make one of them turn their back on the other.
At that point, I thought they were going to try Clarke as they probably think she would be the least bloodthirsty, and the one who would be willing to do anything to let her people go free.

But freeing Clarke's people made no sense I realized when Lexa turned out to be the one who was "turned".
The Mount Weather people NEED the Ark people & their bone marrow.

So from there giving an offer to Lexa made the most sense. And if they really thought about everything, Clarke and LExa had to know that such an offer could eventually be extended.

Which brings me to my ultimate point here:

In my opinion, both Clarke and Lexa are in, and this is a trick. Clarke is the one who asked Lexa to pretend to drop, and is now giving a convincing act for observers that she is alone and defenseless. The plan is probably to get the grounders back in via the waterfall or the caves, in a surprise Strike (they'll need to find the snipers/ spotters first) and hoping that the Mount Weather people will lower their guards after the deal is apparently honored.
Now you might say: what is to prevent the Mount Weather people to just kill Clarke right there and then? Nothing. But it's a risk she is taking, as she thinks they will need every drop of bone marrow they can find.

By the preview, we already know that Clarke gets inside the compound, and with a gun (she threatens Dante saying she didn't want things to get to this)... so it makes sense to think that she has an ace up her sleeve.

TLDR: We're being played, and so are the Mount Weather people.

Interesting that you say that. I always thought that there might be an ultimate reason to what was going on.
I still don't agree with what Lexa did... But I kind of see what you are coming with. I know if I was in Lexa's shoes/boots I'd be trying to save my ass as much as possible.
Regardless of an alliance, there was always that distant uncertainty between lexa and Clarke.
I'm excited for the season finale.

i like that the show doesn't focus on ships TOO much, fans ruin it for themselves for making that the only thing that they want / support. i loved lexa until the finale, it was very selfish but i doubt she'll die, she's far too interesting and i want to know more about her. she is heavily featured in the extended promo. only 24 day to go!

i thought it was a nice way to kick it off, apparently Wanheda Pt. 2 is a lot better though. i don't care much about ships in this show and never have, it's never really made any difference to their storytelling and i'm sure the writers have made that clear it won't either. i do like bellarke though, but i'm not bothered if they're kissing other people!

it's been 84 days so a lot has clearly changed, wonder if we'll get any flashbacks. my heart breaks for poor raven, and i'm excited to see more of the ice nation because brenda strong (mary alice young in desperate housewives) is their queen yas

Thank goodness, this is one dystopian series that tries to keep away from the romantic cliches. The show definitely has romantic relationships — there’s a brief triangle at the beginning with Finn, Raven, and Clarke — but The 100 is not about a guy and a girl trying to save the world and falling in love with each other along the way. Of course, like every show out there, there are popular ships, like Bellarke (Bellamy/Clarke), Linctavia (Lincoln/Octavia), Clexa (Clarke/Lexa), and so on. In fact, critics and fans have complimented the series on its approach to sexuality in regards to Clarke’s romance with Lexa, the Grounder commander. Rumors are that Clarke will have romantic entanglements with another woman in Season Three, but fans are still holding out hope for Bellamy or Lexa.

they RUIN the show especially when you read through twitter and tumblr they just ruin it THEY DO!!!! i love all ships from the show whether romantically or not bc they are mostly, well written! it makes me sad when bellarke / clexa shippers fight to the death over practically nothing

i found the last ep a bit too fast in development but lexa fighting was amazing! i feel like we didn't get to see enough of the ice queen and now she's dead???? wtf at that, disappointing at how quick it seemed to progress from the ep before to that one. I LOVE MILLER AND HIS BF SO CUTE BLESS!!! but i agree with bellamy, but he's grieving with gina's death remember Zealoux; and pike is manipulating him. hope pike dies tbh i can't believe he's chancellor

there's some intrigue with the city of light and i do respect that originally, it is a scifi show so this sort of pays homage to what the show was set out to be initially, but it's just confusing right now. i like the development for bellamy and clarke but they are worlds apart right now, i think bellamy is just hurting and using that hurt in the wrong ways :'( i think this isn't the end of their dynamic though. they ARE the lead actors of this show if i had to pick two, it's interesting to see though because bellamy is right in his opinions but it didn't ever seem to bother him before but maybe he's just not okay with constantly losing people but as if war is going to help that, pike is an idiot.

i agree with the ice queens demise being very messy, especially when they mentioned her in one of lexa's early appearances which i didn't even realise until i rewatched. such a shame because brenda strong is a good actress too and it would have been an interesting role for her to explore!! they've had jasper being stupid for like 5 eps now? plus some characters appearances are inconsistent because of coalition drama so it feels like it'll take aaaages for stuff to happen for them. wouldn't surprise me if jasper joins pike at this point. we haven't seen jasper/monty since the spilling of finns ashes and that's something major???? and disrespectful? even if it was an accident LIKE I WANT TO SEE HIM BE PUT IN HIS PLACE ALREADY

It's a teen drama/scifi show but it doesn't have the awful love triangles and huge focus on romance that most teen dramas have. Well there's a bit of a love triangle quite a way in but it gets solved fast and then is never spoken about again.

After a nuclear war the earth is uninhabitable due to radiation, but about 400 people are living on a space station called the ark in the sky. Because of a limited supply of resources and air (because they are in SPACE), anyone who commits any crime no matter how insignificant is immediately sentenced to death by 'floating' (being kicked outside the ark and you die instantly) unless you are under 18 when you get shoved in a prison cell. When it's discovered the ark is running out of air, the 100 criminals are seen as expendable and are sent to the ground to see if the earth is survivable.

So they all get sent down and they find it's survivable but they're all mad at being sent down to die so they take off the wristbands that are measuring their life signs so the people on the ark think they are dying. Clarke (one of the main characters in the show) is one of the people that got sent to the down so she's a suckup and gets mad at all the delinquents taking their life wristbands off. And then it goes from there basically xxx

I haven't seen last nights (?) but I just watched last week's yesterday and ommgggg I was warned it was gonna be sad so I was stressed the whole way through but
I was actually ok with Lincoln dying, he was ok but I didn't really have much of an opinion on him - the only person I really love is Kane and I was terrified it was gonna be him omfg

that scene with murphy and the chain and collar was HOT as hell even for me lmfao damn. i don't like her that much though, slaughtering kids and winning the conclave in such a corrupt manner (by murdering children as they slept) is wrong and disgusting and i hope she gets her comeuppance. i also hope clarke finds this 'luna' soon

I've been so sad about Kane ever since he took the thing because he was my favourite character and now I have no one left who I truly like :'( I hope they (Raven etc) find a way to get everyone out of the City of Light soon because I want kane back sooo badly and this storyline is beginning to become a little bit boring now. Also I hope they kill Jaha off because he's such a dull character now I hate it whenever he comes on.

What Octavia did at the last second was unforgivable. I know why and he's done bad things in the past and blah blah blah but to just kill someone in cold blood after they protected your people? I know it was partly his fault for the mess in the first place but by this point in the show everyone has done something to mean they should take part of the blame but she just can't see that.

I know he killed her soulmate but actually if Clarke can forgive that guy who killed Lexa, Kane and Abby can forgive each other for their respective roles in what they did under ALIE's influence, Bellamy can forgive Clarke, Monty can forgive Jasper, etc. Octavia's character is weak if she can't see past her anger. And killing Pike is not going to make her feel any better - it doesn't bring back Lincoln and let's face it she has a vendetta against about a million other people as well, so is she just gonna go on a killing spree until everyone who was even slightly involved of the death of her boyfriend is dead? Cos that'll be the end of the show.

But yay, at least ALIE's gone.

it wasn't weak, it was justice for the death of lincoln which was rightly owed to her. it was the law of the grounders and she was taught by indra who has always believed in blood must have blood, and for the cost of lincolns life, she spilled blood for his blood. octavia is far from weak, she has lived under a floorboard for sixteen years of her life, trained and became a warrior who can hold her own and stand her ground and whilst that decision to end pike's life will come to bite them in her ass, i don't hate her for it. it'll be something they develop within season four and maybe she will come to regret it, but i wouldn't say it was weak. she's adopted the mentality of a grounder and it might not bring lincoln back but it'll make her feel at peace because she won't have to stare pike in the face anymore. he had it coming lol

p.s it wAs so predictable clarke would take the flame but wonder what will happen next with the whole who will be commander / ascension / nightblood arc. i want more of it now ALIE is gone.
