Is it just me or are all the people on Habbo/Habbox the people who were around years ago and are now 16+. You never see any younger people on the forum or in the help desk

Everyone gets older constantly cries :'( but yeah we don't seem to get that many new younger people just the same lot hanging around for the most part, so the average age just keeps going up

i'd say also after all the **** that happened with the mute and ch4 where habbo.com went from 10k daily to it's like 3k it has now.. kids do still come about but i'd say alot dropped because parents too and alot of the older users seems to either be back or have stuck around.. just overall making users seems older..

Edit: I'm guessing when you said about ch4 you mean when they said habbo was full of pedos, if not I'm looking like an idiot...

I forgot about that, I'd like to think it was mostly the pedos that went offline because they knew they wouldn't be able to get away with it for much longer, but obviously the parents become concerned and take action

nar i would never say they exactly went away.. always people like that around, and on something like habbo you could spend ages talking to someone and get close and rp and all sorts before even knowing something as trivial as age.. so it's not always peoples fault too, i've seen it happen heck i've even pretty much done that before because it's not always although usually one of the first things you ask.

Just like alot of users i tend to see seem to have the 100% (5 years badge) now-a-days which isn't just because time has passed but also because alot of old users seem to have appeared and become active again for one reason or another..

By large i can't say i have a issue with the community being older in age anyway just makes it more mature and generally you'd hope easier to get on and make friends and such with all being of similar mindset and understanding.

I don't have a problem with Habbos being older, but it does concern me slightly that when we all get bored of Habbo it might die :S Some older users seem to like sticking with a close group of friends and blanking everyone else, and others are only there to trade and get rich, or at least thats what it seems like.

yes, most are just like clicky groups now.. the days when habbo was a "community" are long gone and left back in 2008 and prior sadly

i dont really tend to hang out in many other rooms than help desk, but you do see a lot of rooms that are 18+ and stuff so yeah it does seem like it's a lot of the oldies that don't want to grow up. i think with hxf is that as it's all older users (especially in things like management who dont use habbo too much) it doesn't exactly appeal to younger people and most probably feel intimidated coming here

My thoughts exactly. Not as much with management as they should always be people who know what to do but DJs should be very mixed age.

It only seems that people are older now because you are spending time in areas that older habbos congregate. Active fansite staff communities are often older and more experienced habbos, I didn't join any fansites until I had been playing habbo for 3 years. I began largely in gaming rooms and moved to networking and "agency" rooms like models and mafias later on. People still do the same and because older users have little desire to go to, for example, a salon or a school, their image that habbo is all old fogies remains unchanged.

There's also the fact that back in the early and mid 2000s habbo and it's isometric chatroom platform was a relatively new and unrivalled concept. Now children are being introduced to much less social but more interactive games from earlier ages who update their games constantly and so just like habbo manage to retain their users throughout their teens and sometimes early twenties. If there were alternatives to habbo that teens could have used then they're less likely to have stuck around at habbo, as is shown by people who sporadically switch between habbo and other online games like runescape, wow, cs, and or newer games like dota2, smite, lol or console games with a prestige element to keep players interested.

People tend to stick to what they know and just as people are growing up but coming back to habbo, the same is happening with other games that target younger people but evolve to cater to them as they get older with mini games and such. As for habbox, it's the same kin f concept. People that joined when they were younger did so because it was one of only a few choices (most notably clubhabbo and think habbo) and have stuck around, whereas now there are lots of sites to choose from and because habbox is made up of old folks a site consisting of users closer to the younger teens is more attractive.

No site can cater to all age groups equally without allowing them room to socialise by age group and exclude those that don't fit. Habbox uses to have the most active habbo specific discussion boards that meant younger people could get more involved but now sites like habboquests have filled that hole and younger users have no desire to use habbox because there's nothing going on that interests them.

Is habbox age increasing? Yup. Is habbo age increasing? Not so much, you're just looking in the wrong places!

Kyle knows how to find the young'ns

But yeah if you go into the 18+ rooms you'll mostly find a bunch of 16-20 year olds who think calling each other racial slurs and trying to get each other's snapchats makes them seem mature, you're much better off going to general rooms (like HxHD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) with a mix of people where you might find someone non-crap to talk to. Interesting theory about the paedos leaving because they thought they'd been rumbled though, not heard or thought of that before :P
