I put my headphones on and began making my way to the door to start my journey to school; it was a new year and I was meeting my friend Expling at the corner to face the day together - he'd been there since we were in nappies and he was like a brother to me.

I got to the corner, fully anticipating his arrival at the corner, but I waited and waited - I tapped my Cinderella wrist watch making sure it was still working and alas it was, but where was he? I had waited a good 15 minutes before I needed to make the journey on my own without my right hand man, it was weird I'd never experienced a feeling like this - especially when it was such a momentous day being the first day of school! However, I should have known that it would be bad, it was just yesterday that I had broke the bathroom mirror and willed 7 years bad luck on me, nothing could save me now!

Walking to school was quiet, I hadn't seen many people walking up and it was unusual as we usually saw the likes of Yupt and Inseriousity. hanging around the shop entrance checking for the security guard to see if they were watching their latest shoplifting subject; last time they supposedly ran away from the scene unlike Sean Pegg in Hot Fuzz who decided to stay until he had conquered the town he was overlooking.

I continued walking, the walk seemed longer and more boring without my friend to keep me company, but I kept walking I didn't want to be late! I finally get there, and to my amazement the school is closed, I wonder what happened and thought someone might have been hurt there, but there were a couple of cars in the car park; I assumed they were for the sports hall we have and so I went up to see if I could see anyone. The doors to the sports hall opened and I edged in closer to see if anyone was around - luckily the receptionist IzzyUhh was there and I asked her why the school was closed... she looked me up and down in my school uniform and said "It's Sunday today, you're a little early for school" it all made sense, why Expling hadn't waited for me, and why no one was walking to school - there was no school and I had got my days mixed up. It's no big deal, but I had an early night last night for the day at school - my parents didn't even tell me, they just wanted peace and quiet! Next time I decide to do that, I need to write a Sticky Note or Sticky Notes and put it on my head for when I look in that broken mirror - hmm I'll need to remember to read backwards, or learn mirror writing!
