Honestly, do you?

Do you accept advice from say anyone or only if they're in positions such as teachers/professors/employers?

Thread moved from Discuss Anything by Ripieno (Moderator) as I feel it's more suited in this section.

rship advice I always want but never seem to apply. if i took advice months ago I could have saved myself the hurt of finding out about the cheating etc

I'd typically take advice from people in a position to give advice (imho) such as employers, professors etc but usually won't so much from other people.

No I always take advice if I don't know what to do. Although I don't usually ask for advice in the first place usually because I can work it out on my own if I give myself some time to think about it. I like advice but it has to be well-meaning, not the kind of advice some people like to give just as an excuse to criticise you :(

All the advice I've ever taken from friends was a massive waste and ended up having bad reprocussions, so I tend to take it with a pinch of salt.

Don't really tend to ask for advice and if I'm given advice it's usually something I've already considered but was needing a second opinion on to push a decision through. I love giving advice tho and hopefully when people take it it doesn't have as devastating consequences as some of u guys have had!

Inseriousity.

I never ask for it lol even when sometimes I really should.
generally, no I don't. people give me advice but usually it's telling me how to be more like them (my brother is the worst at this, he's gutted he didn't have a macho brother to go out drinking with or going to the gym) so I ignore it.

I generally don't bother. Either I can work it out myself, nobody is interested enough or it's just not fair to ask someone who's got enough on their plate already.

Yes I do take advice, unless I am fairly certain I know more on something than the person offering the advice does.

I tend to take people's advice quite a bit.

1) because It's easier to do what I'm told instead of having to make a decision on my own
2) If it all goes wrong I have someone else to blame other than myself

I take it from people I trust or I figure out somethin' on my own. :)

I've learnt to stop taking advice from people I don't talk to/people who are interested in knowing how an event went down and just to trust no one with anything.

Sometimes I feel like I need to ask for a second opinion on something if I feel that I'm being irrational however I don't really take advice unless it's from someone I really trust and think its good advice. I like to figure things out myself.

Depends who is giving me the advice and if I feel it's the right thing to do then yeah, if not no

Never realised before reading this thread but I never really ask for advice

I've always been quite independent and I know myself quite well so it never feels like the right thing to do

My parents have always been very good at letting me make my own decisions so that helps

I find myself giving advice more than getting it. When I do get it, it depends who it is from as to how much notice I take
