In contract to the how many hours do you spend on the internet per week thread, how many hours do you spend with your family per week approximately?
How is it spent? is it mostly just when you're eating? or watching TV?

Zero. Don't live with them and very rarely get to go home. I get 26 days holiday a year so I probably spend about 20 days a year with them (although I'm not *with* them all the time in those 20 days)

I assume you go back to see them every few weeks/months?

How do you spend time with them, is it just watching TV, eating etc or?

I'm around them all the time but I don't really spend time with them. We're in the same rooms a lot, sure, but that's not what I'd class as spending time with them.
So I'd say hardly any time at all.

I go home every so often. More so this uni year than last uni year. But not a lot in the grand scheme of things. As far as more distant relatives, pretty much only at Christmas and once in summer apart from my grandparents who will take me out every few months or so.

Very rarely, I don't live with them, and with uni and work, it gives me even less time to go and see them. I only got 2 days with them at Christmas.
I moved away from uni 2 years ago and have only been to visit them twice and they've come to see me twice. I stayed there for 2 months in summer and tried to spend as much time with my family and extended family out and about, gardening, etc. Not a fan of communal TV watching so tried to be a bit more outdoorsy. I don't think I'll see them again until my brother eventually gets married, I prefer to live independently.
I'm quite surprised by the responses so far. I don't get to spend a lot of time with my family when I'm on placement but once I'm at uni I spend as much time as I can. I get along quite well with my parents and siblings and enjoy their company sometimes
