Earlier this evening, I made my Mum sit down and watch the final Harry Potter film. Believe it or not, she had never seen it before! As I had already seen it several times I wasn't really watching it. I did however pick up on the interesting quotes that were used. When reading stories and watching films I always find that something a character says will stick out at random times.

For this competition find your favourite quote from any story/film you've read or watched. Tell me where it's from and why it is your favourite quote.

May the best response win!

Prize: 5 credits + 15 rep

“So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.”

It's from Looking for Alaska by John Green. I personally love it because I'm a bit of an english geek, so I love the metaphor used and the simile describing his love for her. I also like the fact that he describes himself as drizzle and her as hurricane, whereas you'd most likely expect it to be the opposite, because the hurricane is the most destructive and you wouldn't call someone you love, destructive. If you look closely, though, you'll see how beautiful it is.

Wow, yeah I like the book.

Braveheart - William Wallace:
"Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!"

The reason this is one of my favourite quotes is probably self-explanatory--I'm Scottish and this is about Scotland fighting for their freedom, defeating the English and eventually gaining it. What Scottish person doesn't love this movie and the many quotes in it (even if for whatever reason they voted no to independence)? :)
