You can find the camera under the zoom/like buttons and it costs 2c to buy the photo and it displays on your wall like a sticky
You can also keep 5 diff pics and buy them at a later date if you wanted

Where the hell are all the filters? Why the hell would I spend 2c when they robbed me of all my previous photos too? Piss poor as far as I'm concerned. The bloody help button on the camera doesn't even work lmao.

I like it, however I agree with @dgbtz;, it is rather disappointing in the way of features and that you can't even caption an image. 2c seems a little expensive as well, I would like to purchase say 3 pictures for 5c and then use them when I want rather than paying 2c a time.

Took them long enough.
Maybe I'm too nostalgic but nothing will ever replace the old camera and photos. Positive steps though

I concur. Unless you joined after the time of camera's stopping then nothing will beat the old style photos. They were a massively farmiliar thing throughout the hotel. Had they stayed this would have been an update - fair enough - but it's more of a replacement; and that's quite sad :(

Old camera is irreplaceable, but never the less at least they brought something back like it.

Weird to think I have unviewable photos on Habbo that pre-date me being here even
Def not paying 2c to take one shot anyway, used to be not much more for a whole roll of film didn't it
This is just another scam that habbo is doing to make us users pay coins to get materialistic things that are again... just pixels. :l haha, If you have "photos" then you can always just screen shot and then that way when habbo is long gone, you'll still have memories :D
Took them long enough.
Their developers must be useless

If they can bring out a camera again, why can't they make it so that you can view your old photo's again?

Too many people are sitting on hoards of scripted photos waiting for that to happen. I doubt that Habbo want the bad press associated with having pornographic images floating around on their social network for 12 year olds.
How long did that take? Jesus.

Like the new camera, however I think they should make it so when you re-load the client your saved photos are there to purchase later. :)
You guys wanted the camera back and when they bring it back you still moan!! 'Took them long enough' 'too expensive'. All they heard was 'bring the camera back' not anything about price etc. be grateful and enjoy the new/old feature!

It is a fair comment - hardly unreasonable to say 'finally' when someone takes so long to do something so obvious..
Most people crying about camera never used it. I have walls full of photos that were cute n stuff but honestly a screenshot is cheaper and if you're over 9 years old a caption shouldn't be needed. Nice to bring bk, good money sink for those that like to display their in game memories in game.

Glad you're enjoying it guys. A few responses to some of your questions/criticisms, answers are based on my own thoughts and not representative of Sulake!
Bringing back the camera is something that's been discussed for a long time, but when thinking about that you have to remember why it was removed. It was open to attack from bad guys, and we simply could not allow that sort of thing to exist in the hotel.
The reason it took so long was because we had to prototype various ideas and solutions to find one that not only fixed that last cameras problems, but also did it in a way that was resource friendly, and wouldn't crumble when many users attempted to render photos. Finding a solution scalable to thousands of users is not an easy task.
This xkcd comic nicely illustrated the problem we faced (identifying images that should not be in the image!)

So if anything, in my belief our developers have done a great job in bringin back the camera in a way that fixes the issues the previous iteration had.

Good answer. It's good to be back and purely the fact that people have dirty pics on the old photos meant it was not possible to bring those back to life, which makes sense!
has anyone got any pictures of the new camera?

In my opinion the interface looks very nice and sharp. It's free to use, however the 'film' is a little bit more expensive than the original camera. Below I've put both versions of the camera interface together for comparison. The newer camera is good because it has a much larger frame, however the one feature it is lacking is the ability to write a small caption underneath. I would have liked to see a return of that feature, as well as the possibility to apply polaroid-like filters. All in all I think it's great they have released this old feature again, but I also hope that future development on it won't stop here!

I don't know how the new camera was developed but I'm sure the developers would use the old camera as a basis (judging by those screenshots). For a company that turns over millions of dollars this should have been an relatively easy implementation for your team. The true lack of progress shown over the years is testament to how bad the development team are.
Edit: For the record I never wanted the camera back :P

Using the old camera as a base would not only defeat the purpose of the new camera (the old one was riddled with bugs and problems), but was also impossible. Not only was the client portion of the original camera in a completely different programming language, but the server side used a now defunct (and also broken) media format from the client - which we now know was in a completely different language to the current one, to render and save the image. This approach could not be reused.
Habbo has moved leaps and bounds over the years, and an implementation of a feature this complex does not happen over night. The fact the team has been able to implement the camera safely is a huge thing.
Believe me when I say, that if this was as easy as your post makes out you think it should be, it would have been done long ago. :)

I kinda agree with you.
I miss the old camera, no sweat. It looked cool, nostalgic, had a lovely effect (polaroid) and, I personally think, added to the user experience on Habbo. Of course a lot of people say screenshots are free, but it's not the same having a photo on your room's wall for everyone to see. That's my only problem with it - I guess I just don't want to let go of the past, but I'm still mardy about the merge so I think that's a personal trait.
On the other hand, yeah, development has been shown and I don't even want to try and comprehend the safeguarding issues you must come up against when implementing back in one of the things that kicked off all the problems and scandals (and then the development after).
I get the move forward. I'm cynical about Habbo nowadays but perhaps I've grown up - that doesn't stop me appreciating the fact that, despite Habbo isn't going back to it's roots, it still remembers them.

Can you preview when the full tool (flters, zooms) will be out? please.

Nice to see this feature return although I have to agree, the price per photo is a bit expensive, hopefully it changes.

The biggest issue most people are having with it is the price. Old habbo film was already pretty costly (5c for 6 photos) so now more than doubling that (2c/photo) seems absolutely ludicrous. Seeing as we can really do the same thing by taking a screenshot we should be able to use this feature for free with Duckets (which are basically useless).

6 Creds for 5 Pics = 1.2c per pic.
It hasn't doubled.

Sorry that I got the price wrong. Aside from the .2 of a coin it has doubled.

Not too sure about it.. I like it.. but then I don't know why I'd want to spend 2c on it just so I can put it on my wall as a sticky.. :/

its 1c+ for selfies i think the price is reasonable enough the only thing is tht they rob us of our previous pictures which suck
doesnt even bother me anyway lolol its only camera and we have been doing well without it the past few years

Wouldn't have been any if it was developed properly in the first place

But then again I guess the company had a level of naivety in the sense they expected only younger people to be on there not making it worse for others? Although I agree with you, I reckon they shouldn't have all of the blame.

Bugs are to be expected when developing new material, it's how they address those issues. Besides a company that was turning over millions of dollars is fully accountable. Also younger people were able to exploit the camera.. I should imagine a lot of the people that were abusing it were teenagers.
Sulake might be a wonderful company but so many people complain about their customer service.. or the moderation team it does make me wonder what their other departments are like. Oh well.. Money, money, money! Lol
