What series did you start watch? Do you still watch it?

Also, lets discuss characters. For some reason I see people dislike Ash, but I don't mind him? Do you like him? Or if you don't, why?

The first Pokemon episode I watched was the squirtle island one on VCR. Think I stopped watching it when season 4 was over.

Lool and Ash was my cartoon crush when I was younger - had a lunch box with him on it even.

I started watching from the first series, stopped when they went to Hoenn, but I've caught back up to the Sinnoh League thanks to Pokemon TV [Try it if you wanna watch old episodes, the availablity of episodes changes every friday and goes in order.] I don't like Unova series however, I don't know the Pokemon and the designs look crap.

I like how Ash has improved in personality and skill in Sinnoh League. I do wish they would let him get a little futher in tournements though!

I also like how Gary is alot nicer nowadays, his attitude could get boring in the first series.

I have memories of watching some very early ones but I was too young to take any notice of which gen it was or anything. The one I really started taking an interest in was Diamond & Pearl and then Diamond & Pearl battle dimension

I've watched since the start and am still watching :$ Unova was naff but XY is much better!

I watched right from the beginning when it began broadcasting way back at the end of the 90s; the first episode remains my favourite. I remember going to school a day or two after the series' premiere and it was all anyone would talk about. It was so good back then, because the internet still wasn't a thing and we had no idea there were more than 151 Pokemon, so when Ho-oh showed up and other episodes would hint at all these new Pokemon it was just great. Other episodes that stand out are the archeologist one with Aerodactyl, Kabutops and all those other supposedly extinct Pokemon, Squirtle Squad, the episode Charmander was introduced and the episode Ash is stuck in that ice cave with Charmander's flame keeping everyone warm. I watched the original series religiously for a year or two and dipped in and out of a few others, but these days it just isn't what it was. I haven't properly watched it in over a decade.

I've also seen all eight movies with the original voice actors. I saw the first one at the cinema with my mum. Those were the days. I used to watch Pokemon 2000 every week; probably still know all the words. I saw Lucario and the Mystery of Mew a couple of years ago after having been away from Pokemon for some time and I was pleasantly surprised. People give 4Kids a lot of grief, but they did a great job with Pokemon.

A lot of people hate Ash because he isn't Red, basically. Plus he gives away all of his Pokemon and though he desires to be a Pokemon master, he really doesn't catch all that much. He isn't very good at battles, either. But for such a long running show with characters who don't age and whose story just resets time and time again, I don't really know what audiences are expecting. I liked Ash, personally. Brock and Tracey were cool, too.

And while we're on the subject; Mewtwo is my favourite Pokemon.

Ah, my favourite films was Pokemon the First Movie and then Rise of Darkrai, I love that one. I like the music in the films too, usually they are pretty awesome. Like in Rise of Darkrai, Oracion was one of the most beautiful pieces of music i've ever heard.

i liked it when it was the original 150. then 151 ok. but now its up to about 1000 noty. i however was a massive fan in its heyday i had the cards, the stickers, the films, the dvds/videos and a pokedex thing haha. the nintendo gameboy games and DS games are great too

But yeah love the show, started when it came out obv since it was massive and being 8 or 9 or whatever it was just the show you had to watch (some people later switched to Digimon but let's be honest that was crap) and I think pokemon are great. Jessie and James are firm favourites of mine forever and ever amen because they are just superfly fabuloso especially their disguise outfits AND THERE IS AN EPISODE WHERE JESSIE MEETS AN OLD FRIEND AND SHE HAS TO PRETEND NOT TO KNOW HER AND IT BREAKS HER HEART AND I CRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
