Not currently as we would rather see discussion being made via threads/posts. We did have one in the past but wasn't a great success.

Forums dead enough as it is. Add a shout box and there goes half your spam threads

Maybe, Staff privilege to have a shoutbox in that forum for dying departments to help encourage applicants.

No. No. No. No.

Staff need to post on the actual forum, not spend their entire time in staff threads. A shoutbox would only diminish some staffs activity further.

Staff forums already have spam threads.

Staff have spam threads and skype chats which has its pros and cons

A shoutbox would fit a forum booming with members and activity which this forum isn't

Nooo please

Staff have skype chats which does basically the exact thing as a shoutbox. I quite like staff skype chats actually because it's actually really annoying when you see inside jokes between a department posted on the forum and everyone who's not in the dept is just there like ?????????????????

The shoutbox isn't coming in any shape or form - Don't worry.

Staff forums already have spam threads.

I am well aware of this. Hence why I said a shoutbox would diminish staff activity further.

Personally, I think spam threads for staff are unnecessary, and counter-productive in a forum that is already dying.

Any chance of some statistics on how many posts are made in vs out of the staff forums xxMATTGxx?

TBH, Staff activity in the forums (excluding management+ forums) are not that active. Well at times they might be active but most departments I've been in the spam threads are pretty dead :P

Spam threads in the staff forums are dead ever since group chats on Skype/MSN

But speaking for myself anyway, my department only really use the chat for department based stuff, not general discussion.
