Basically type in your postcode on that page and it'll come up with your area and deprivation statistics, ranking your area nationally.
Note that it only applies to England and not the rest of the United Kingdom.
My area got...
The population of my area is 10710 and the IMD rank is 11,726 out of 12,660 (where 1 is the least deprived parish).
The most significant poverty-related issue in this parish is the relatively low female life expectancy. The next most significant issue is the relatively low male life expectancy.
Pensioner poverty, working age poverty and lone parenthood in this parish are among the highest in the country. Male life expectancy and female life expectancy in this parish are among the lowest nationally. Child poverty in this parish is higher than average compared with other parishes in the country. Qualification levels in this parish are lower than average compared with other parishes nationally.
So less than a thousand within the poorest in England which is pretty interesting.
You?

I found one for Wales, but it works in the opposite way, so #1 is the most and #1909 is the least deprived.
Where I live in university; is ranked 1786th most deprived area of Wales.
Where my parents live; is ranked 1827th most deprived area of Wales.
I've been pretty lucky then really, especially when if you move 10 miles away in both places it drops dramatically.
