A simple question, who stands out to you as someone purely evil or literally insane? It doesn't have to rank by deaths of course as it could just be a serial killer, otherwise we'll just get a thread full of the obvious Hitler, Stalin and Chairman Mao (although you can say them if you think it) but who stands out specifically to you when you think about it?

Here's three who always stick out to me...

Pol Pot

Leader of Cambodia during the 1970s and took over the country with his communist guerilla group. A few years in power, and the country was bought to its knees with the population forced out of the cities to work in rural communes, children made the property of the state, anyone with glasses or percieved to be a threat to the regime was killed. Millions dead. With this, it's more the scale of the deaths to the population which made this guy and his evil group make North Korea look like a pussycat.

He died, exiled and in hiding, in the Cambodian jungle in - from my memory - the late 1990s having never been brought to justice.

Josef Mengele

Known as the Angel of Death. The experiments this evil creature carried out on the people in the German concentration camps are beyond the pale. From a sick fascination with dwarves and twins, to sewing people together, performing twisted operations without gassing the people out. The man was something sent to us straight from Hell.

He died hiding under a false identity in South America in the 1970s an old man, having alluded Mossad's attempts to capture him.

Uday Hussein

This guy, son of Saddam Hussein of Iraq, didn't kill many people but with him it is more of what he could have done given his behaviour despite not being in power himself. Originally the heir to the Iraqi Presidency, he proved too much even for the murderous and wicked Ba'ath regime of his father so much so that his father threatened to have him executed on numerous occassions and re-designated his successor as his younger son Qusay Hussein. From claims of rape, murder, torture and a desire to get his own way in just about everything (he beat a man to death for the nerve of the man not allowing him to dance with the wife) he fed his enemies to his pet Lions, had a personal Iron Maiden for his enemies and was just stark raving psychotic. You'd be afraid to breath infront of him.

He died alongside his brother Qusay Hussein in a firefight/siege with American troops in 2003 shortly after the Ba'ath regime had fallen across Iraq.

So what about you? What serial killers, murderers, tyrants or madmen do you class as the most evil?

Try and post a picture and explain what you find so evil about them.

This guy is just flat out creepy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Dahmer

Example:

he was lured to Dahmer's apartment, where he was drugged and endured muriatic acid being poured into his skull through a cavity which Dahmer had drilled.

Example:

Oh yes, he was positively evil... there's some very in-depth interesting interviews on YouTube with him before his execution if you want to see them. He's pretty much on the level of John Wayne Gacy, but John Wayne Gacy in his interviews before his execution is rather vague whereas Dahmer tells all.
