For now anyway.

Basically they amended the the 1977 Misuse of Drugs Act without proper consultation or process, which rules the entire thing invalid :P they're rushing through an emergency procedure to have control reinstated but it means that until that's put into effect fully (while they wait to properly amend the original Act I'm assuming) a whole bunch of drugs are legal in Ireland right now - and the bill legally cannot come into effect until tomorrow morning at the earliest.

For any of you wanting to make a quick round trip or who live over there already, note that most drugs do not come under the 77 Act so it is only a select few that are technically legal at the moment, so do your research and of course as ever when messing around with intoxicants, do your homework on what they are/do and BE SAFE.

It is. But that involves getting caught, which seems easier to do when you simply possess it. Being caught selling it is an entirely different ball game.

The Irish give their Court of Appeal far too much power :S If that happened here we would have so much secondary legislation, policies and a whole plethora of red tape to catch this happening - assuming we gave the Court of Appeal the power to repeal statutes to boot.
