Do you know your heritage? If so, what is the most interesting thing you found out?
Apparently I'm somehow connected to Brian Boru :S

I don't actually know my heritage either, my granny refuses to tell us anything (which is somewhat selfish).

Why?
Anytime we ask her she refuses to speak about it so we can't do much.

anyone actually know is there anyway of tracing your family heritage other than word of mouth? just gonna have to hire a super susy investigator
My Mam and some of her sisters did it with my family I'll have a chat with her and let you know. I think there's a way to kinda do it online richie. Try census.ie (could be wrong but it springs to mind)

Danish and German on my mothers side and English on my fathers side
My great grandparents were Danish and lived in Denmark for most of their married life until moving further south to Germany and settling in a town near Munich where my family have stayed ever since

Am basically just English back for like at least 10 generations which is ridic, that's literally hundreds of years without anyone else popping up but there is def some Scottish somewhere centuries back on my mum's side somewhere... still a gazillion links away though which I do find odd

My family like many in Liverpool came from Ireland, I don't know for sure whether the north or the south but they are Catholic so I always assume the south... whether it was before or after the Republic was declared though I have no idea so I am not sure whether they were 'immigrants' or not. That's all I know really.
I should try and find out really, might hire someone when I have a job to research family background.
