View Full Version : How easily does public transport wind you up?

In the past with public transport I have been quite relaxed but ever since experiencing the Yorkshire to Leeds service it really really tests my blood pressure. Of course I can't get angry at the staff but I am fuming when the trains are cancelled all of the time or delayed.

Luckily the local services in Liverpool are fab and rarely ever any problems with them.

How about you?

Trains are qite decent - but the thing what annoys me - like with Buses ... it takes forever to go from Town/City to next Town/City ... let alone Village to Village Lol

I've only been on public transport about 20 times in my entire life, so I can't give a definitive answer. The buses at home are bad though and train journeys just seem to drag.

I hate the public transport in my area, its so inconvenient and it annoyed me so much that I decided to get a car. Never been more happy as I can go anywhere when I want to.

i'm quite a patient person but my morning bus route can really take the piss, always late no matter rain or shine. got to a point where i am tempted to record the times and complain.

never had issues with trains though, love a train myself unless i don't get a seat in which case i silently fume the whole trip.

i really hated having to get the bus every day, if my college wasn't so far i'd probably would have walked at the time. now i don't have to get it i will sometimes get a bus, but if i miss it i get so annoyed :( missed a bus last week and went home cause it was too cold to wait for another sobs

Not at all because I have my own vehicle.

I don't really do buses as they're too inconsistent and it's usually just as fast to walk. I like trains though, especially East Coast as they do free food and alcohol in first class.

Public transport in Cornwall is really annoying. Went to use it the other day for the first time in yonks and the bus firm ceased trading during the night so half of the buses in Cornwall didn't even run.

Love buses

It depends. It can be very stressful sometimes like taking 8 trains in one day :(. But most of the time it's alright when travelling with a friend

I only get annoyed if the driver is taking the piss yapping away or if the bus is super late

Not very. Even when my train was delayed so I had to sit and wait for another hour or so with little to no phone battery I wasn't really that annoyed. I'd only ever be annoyed if I lost money somewhere down the line.

Oh wait I used to get annoyed at late buses when college ended late in the day as I'd usually arrive early enough for the early bus before other people came, but it was never on time and by the time it arrived it would be absolutely packed.

Probably just loud people and if the train is delayed or cancelled. :)

I only use public transport when I'm going out, so everyone's usually drunk/tipsy so I don't mind

The only time I get really fed up is when taxis come late and you have somewhere to be. It pisses me off so much.

It does not really wind me up much at all. I am very patient with it weirdly, it would only wind me up if I needed to be somewhere urgently - like work for example. However, if I am getting a bus to work I will go earlier than planned so I have plenty of time, although, to get to work I need to get the bus then walk half way across town and usually have around 45 minutes walking time when I only really need 10 oh well better safe then sorry. I have never taken a train to work though so that might be different. I remember once my boyfriend was annoyed at trains as we were coming back from Manchester, we were on the right platform them I just hear over the tannoy that X train was moving to X platform and all our platform started running so we had to run too lmao.

Very rarely. No point getting wound up over public transport - realistically life is too short to get angry over something like that :P

On the other hand, life is also too short to sit around for hours due to delays... :L

I don't use buses anymore, but it used to really wind me up when the drivers were so grumpy to anyone that got on. Plus when I didn't have change and had to pay with a fiver, they'd refuse to give me change and tell me to get off the bus :'(

Pretty certain that's not allowed, a fiver is not an unreasonable amount to pay with.

No it really isn't, especially when I was paying for an all day ticket which was was £3 something.
