It's a "new and hip" video content sharing website that a lot of the bigger Youtubers are migrating too (well not migrating, but juggling as well as Youtube).

Youtubers such as Linus are releasing content on there MUCH earlier than they will be on Youtube, unless it's a time sensitive matter, which I though most, if not all tech videos are.

The website doesn't support mobile streaming, not only this, but if you don't sign up within the next 50 or so hours, you need to pay to access any video on the site.

For those who watch the bigger youtubers/follow new media sharing websites, what's your thoughts?

Free access for 1 year only: http://bit.ly/linusearly (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2Flinusearly&redir_token=FhCBTuMkHhU20fxQgmhP_5McMqN8MTQyNzI4Mz g5N0AxNDI3MTk3NDk3)

I highly doubt it'll kick off and it seems pointless when you can watch them for free on YouTube (assuming they keep putting videos out on both, and if they don't well they lose their audience which is the most important thing to their success...).

People who are coming from Youtube have signed contracts with vessel to provide content exclusive to them as well as content before Youtube... I think. In the Video where Linus announces the whole thing with him going over there, he mentions that they managed to get special arrangements with them for time sensitive issues and videos, which makes me think this.

It's all come down to content creators wanting more money really, I assume they get a small kickback from everyone that signs up through their affiliate link, so it could just be a another way for them to earn money.

It's still annoying how they've migrated to an unfinished site though:

No mobile suport
Video quality decreases
UI is a little messy
Doesn't respond a lot of the time

etc...

It won't kick off imho, if content creators want more money they should just sign up to patreon.

For example Dan Bull - https://www.patreon.com/itsDanBull. He'll earn $1,125.25 per week through patreon.

Hmm, The support it's getting from major content creators who don't usually via from Youtube is a little weird thats all. Considering how bad the entire system is at this point, makes me think they have plans that's all.

Well it is from the Hulu CEO afaik.

But it'll be purely influenced by money I would imagine. I still think it'll flop though.

Sounds totally pointless, there's no need for a new site that just does the same thing. It probably won't completely die but it'll probably be the Google+ of video sites
