Lil’ Chris has passed away at the age of 24.
The young star - full name Christopher James Hardman - was a singer-songwriter, actor and TV personality.
He first found fame at 15 when he appeared in series two of Channel 4's Rock School. He went on to sign a record deal with major label RCA and released his debut single Checkin' It Out in September 2006. It reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart.

Since news broke of his death, family, friends and fans of the star have been flooding Twitter with tributes.
His mum Karen Hardman shared a number of pictures with her son on Facebook, and family and friends have also been sending their wishes to her.
Friend Lloyd Wilkinson, who he recorded a single called Christmas Number One with, shared a heartbreaking post earlier today, writing: "I can not believe I'm doing this and I'm completely devastated.
"Rest in peace brother bear. Love you mate. Chris Hardman Aka Lil' Chris."

In a final post to his 25.5k Twitter followers sent on 18 March, Chris wrote: “Good morning everybody! Lovely day! Love you all x."
Last year he made a reference to depression, sharing with his followers: "I hope to one day create a way out of depression that doesn't mean taking your own life. The Cure."
As well as Rock School, the 24-year-old also made TV appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Dani's House and The Weakest Link.
More to follow.

I really didn't like him in that show. I found him a bit of a selfish cry baby who shouldn't have won. He sodded off on holiday mid-show for a week then returned upset that the other people in the group were doing a pretty good job without him, throwing a self-righteous, egotistical tantrum because he wanted to be doing it all. He stood on their toes and upset the entire group acting as a spoilt brat.

That said, 24 is no age. He did suffer huge depression after growing up. It's just sad this was his only form of release. No one deserves that, not him or his friends and family.

EDIT: That's assuming it is suicide.

It's weird, I thought about him the other week and wondered what he was doing these days. Shame though, 24 is so young. :(

I still can't get my head around it. Especially when you've followed him since he was on 'Gene Simmons Rock School' TV show.

Such a shame and it is no age to pass away! I did not really listen to his music or anything, but I would always remember the name. I told my sister about it, but she already knew - she listened to his music in previous years and in a way for a few people they've grown up with him RIP!
