Dayum, what an age to live to :/

There are only 4 more people left alive who were born in the 19th century.

Awwh thats sad. :( Mind you, what a long life she had. It's weird to think that she was over 100 years older than a lot of people on this forum!

Gertrude Weaver of Arkansas has died just a few days after claiming the title!

The oldest person now is Jeralean Talley of Georgia in the USA, she is currently 115, and was born on the 23rd May 1899 (what a great date :D).

Sad that Gertrude has passed away though, but glad she managed to get the title before her passing!

However, it's believed that Getrude might have been born in April and not July of her birth year.

Kind of worn out story. Happens all the time around this age and it's told because it plays on peoples emotions. If you told me an age much higher than that or someone of significance then I would react.

Although, I salute her for being able to live such a long life and we could all only wish for the same.

Some believe there's a lot more older people around the world e.g. tribes, but they just aren't known
