finished s4 today and it's my least fav season it can get a bit boring at times (ep 2 was GREAT!)

just a mere 1 day and 16 hours ;)

You thought season 4 was boring? I liked it. The episode with the fight near the end was best and the episode dedicated to the wall was the worse.

FlyingJesus

Kinda over it tbh, I'll watch it just so I know what's going on but it has been a bit meh in the last season or so with too much focus on fight choreography and not enough on story

Also no Hodor

Feels like a season finale already with just those four episodes and a couple of weeks wait now. There's too much focus on the Wall and Sansa with so little on Dany. I was really annoyed with ep3... She wasn't even in it. I feel really empowered to watch her.

The events in King's Landing and Meeren are pretty similar. #Loras.

Also what I don't get is the Unsullied are pretty much born to kill but they all died when fighting some posh ****? Why were the masters able to fight back and kill so many when the doubles weren't that bad. :/

Disappointed that so many episodes have leaked already, weekly discussions won't be the same. At least for book readers there's some disparity and level of unknown to continue o discuss as the weeks go on, for show watchers only the leak is going to make the game of thrones experience a very boring one for the next month. I watched episode 1 and it was pretty good, the opening scene was a nice little addition and danaerys' visit to her pets looks like a snapshot of the havoc that's to come. Shaping up well, hopefully less fighting this season and more story.

If your disappointed about the leaks why watch them? A lot of forums and stuff are careful with spoilers so as long as you avoid looking for them you'll be okay

Not disappointed in terms of avoiding spoilers, I already know exactly what happens; disappointed that the game of thrones weekly ritual that has only just begun to solidify over the past four years has been ruined. People don't have to wait for the next episode(s) so it's no longer the social experience it has been.in the past. Hopefully hbo don't decide to release the other episodes until next month.

DPS
15-04-2015, 10:04 AM
Its nice that Sky Atlantic has decided to play it at the same time as everyone else. Even if it is at like 3pm...

Also they release stats and it had 8million people watching the first episode... that imo is good even tho it was leaked

thats like .9 more than season 4 finale

Aiden
15-04-2015, 10:10 AM
The thing about it being played at 3am or whatever is that a lot of people won't watch it at this time. The only benefit of having Sky Atlantic is you can watch it at the same time as everyone else... at 3am.

So either way I personally will be watching it in HD at the same time which ever way I choose.

But then watching them yourself isn't helping. If you want that experience then just watch it when it airs. Most sites will make sure people avoid posting spoilers for the episodes that haven't been on TV yet

This got leaked to me.. Dont know of its real. But seems likely. Can a mod add the spoiler tags as i cant remember them and im on phone... For now dont look below if you dont want spoilers.

Dorne:
>Ellaria continues to pester Doran about going to war. He bans her from visiting him.
>Sand Snakes duel with Areo Hotah for fun in a scene that doesn't really go anywhere.
>Myrcella and Trystane discuss their future (Trystane is a smug little *****).
>Sand Snakes catch Jaime and Bronn lurking outside the water gardens. Fight breaks out. Bronn injures Tyene. Nym traps him in her whip. Obara disarms Jaime. Both are about to be killed but Areo Hotah spots them and puts an end to the fight.
>Jaime is brought to Doran, Bronn is taken prisoner.
>Jaime pleads to Doran to allow him to take Myrcella home. He refuses because she's betrothed to his son.
>Snakes/Ellaria want Jaime killed - Doran shuts them up and reminds them they have zero authority.
>Jaime admits Myrcella is a ******* and not worth anything to them, Doran still says no because Trystane loves her.
>Jaime is allowed to visit Myrcella and Trystane. She refuses to leave. He notices Myrcella still has her necklace and realizes Cersei manipulated him into going to Dorne.
>Jaime receives a letter from Cersei begging for him to return and help her. After a heartfelt fireside conversation with Bronn, Jaime burns the letter and ignores her call.
>Jaime and Bronn are freed and told never to return.
>Sand Snakes/Ellaria chase after them and ambush them at night.
>Obara kills Bronn
>They let Jaime go only because Doran would not allow them to murder him. Ellaria makes it clear that their feud is not over.
Kings Landing:
>Cersei uses Littlefinger's help to frame Margaery for adultery, claiming she sometimes visits Baelish's brothel
>The Faith Militant throw her in prison - Tommen is devastated and sends for his Uncle Kevan to return and help.
>Olivar visits Loras in secret. They kiss through the jail bars.
>Cersei visits Margaery and they argue. Margaery calls Cersei a "lying, cheating, brother-******* *****." Cersei laughs, spits on her and leaves.
>Loras has Olivar threaten Lancel and force him to admit all of his and Cersei's actions to the Faith.
>Cersei is thrown in prison. She has Qyburn send a letter to Jaime asking him to come save her
>Kevan is now Tommen's hand, and has managed to fix many of the things that Cersei ****** up. Littlefinger has also rejoined the council temporarily.
>The Tyrells are freed
>Cersei is given two options: Be killed, or admit to her sins and crimes, and perform a walk of penance. She admits to sleeping with Lancel, but not Jaime. She also does not admit to framing Margaery, so there will be a trial.
>The Faith Militant cut and rip out her hair, strip her naked, and whip her through the streets chanting "sinner". People scream and throw **** and rocks at her. She cries a lot. (This scene is very well done besides a few weird green screen shots where you can tell she isn't in front of a real crowd of people. Amazing acting by Lena Headey too!)
>She arrives at the Red Keep. Qyburn cloaks her and brings her inside. He introduces her to The Mountain, her champion for the upcoming trial, alive and completely covered in armor. (No "Ser Robert Strong" rename, but Qyburn does explain he is a different man now.)
>Kevan and Littlefinger have a well written conversation about the state of affairs in Westeros. They enter the tower of the hand together and find a dead Pycelle with a bolt in his chest. Varys enters the room behind them with a crossbow. He shoots Kevan, then Littlefinger as he tries to escape.
>Varys explains to a dying Littlefinger that what he just did will throw the seven kingdoms into chaos and open a window for Daenerys to take the throne.
>As he's walking out he says "You were right about chaos you know. It is a ladder. I'm afraid you've just fallen from it, my friend."
Wintefell:
>Sansa spots Reek and recognizes him as Theon. She's terrified and asks what happened to him, he runs away, trips in the mud, then gets up and runs to the heart tree. She follows him.
>Reek is hiding by the heart tree when he hears a child's voice (Bran maybe?) say "I know what you did Theon Greyjoy." He touches the tree and sees visions flash for about a second. The images he sees are a weirwood tree, Robb Stark smiling, the fake burned bodies of the stark boys, and a direwolf snarling. When they stop he immediately says "I'm Reek."
>Sansa finds him and tries to talk to him and ask what they did to him. He is unresponsive and completely paranoid that it's a trick by Ramsey. He says "I'm Reek" again (we get it, you're Reek!) and runs off.
>Sansa is married to Ramsey. The Wedding is gross and unprofessional. Very different from her Kings Landing wedding.
>Ramsey invites Myranda to the bedding ceremony and makes Sansa watch them have sex. Both girls are very uncomfortable. After a few minutes, Ramsey passes out because he's too drunk.
>Roose tells Ramsey about Stannis and his plans to take the north. He reiterates how important this marriage is in solidifying their stance at Winterfell. He's suspicious that Ramsey didn't consummate the marriage because he was found passed out in his bed with Myranda, and Sansa was still clothed on the other side of the room. Ramsey lies and says he did.
>Ramsey prepares to actually consummate the marriage, and once again forces Sansa to watch him **** Myranda, as if it will make her more excited to have sex with him. When it obviously isn't working because Sansa is crying, Ramsey forces Reek to strip her naked and "get her warmed up" (Yes, we see a fully nude Sansa for the first time. It almost feels wrong to look.)
>Ramsey pulls Reek off and throws him on the ground. He then forces himself on Sansa. She's begging him to stop and bawling. Myranda is crying in a chair.
>Ramsey is annoyed by Sansa's screaming and clutches her throat. He tells Reek to bring a cast iron bar (fire stoker I think) over and choke Sansa with it to keep her quiet.
>He brings it over and stalls for a second. Ramsey says "What are you waiting for? Reek?"
>Reek looks at him, then swings the bar into the side of Ramsey's head, HARD. Ramsey collapses to the floor.
>Sansa and Theon steal a horse and escape Winterfell (No guards on duty that night? lol)
>They come across Brienne and Podrick. The four of them decide to ride for the wall where Jon Snow is.
>Ramsey is pissed and Roose is even more pissed because Stannis is on his way.
>Ramsey flays Myranda
The Wall:
>Tormund and the wildlings still refuse to bend the knee, even if Stannis gives them the Gift as their home.
>Melisandre tells Jon about more of her fire visions. She says he is very important, but he will die if he helps the wildlings. He doesn't believe her.
>Jon leads the wildlings to Hardhome, a bay in the north for food. supplies, and a way south.
>Stannis marches south, leaving Selyse, Shireen, and Melisandre at the wall.
>The battle at Hardhome is fantastic. The most intricate and visible (woohoo!) battle on the show to date. No significant deaths though.
>When Jon returns to Castle Black, many of his sworn brothers are upset at his choice to abandon the wall to help the wildlings.
>Several of them ambush Jon one night, surrounding him with knives in their hands. They stab him to death while repeating "For the watch." (This scene is really eerie and depressing. Very well done.)
>Melisandre burns Shireen alive in order to resurrect Jon. Selyse is crying and begging on the ground.
>Jon, surrounded by fire, opens his eyes which are now a piercing light blue. The season ends with this shot.

These are book plotlines, not show ones. Not sure why they're written as though they're show spoilers since we're way off book this season and half of the characters and storylines have been merged or removed. Most will happen, some will not.

Figured this thread might come back to life a bit after the initial leak, is anybody still watching? I'm really not sure what to think about the missandei and greyworm scene , how would it even work? He's a eunuch! Bleh seems a bit of a pointless addition. Also very disappointed that sansa isn't more sassy, she's just getting duller.

Well that's what happens when you give them "power" and "weapons" so she kinda ****** that up for herself. She thought she was safe because she did that and thought they were on a good agreement terms with them - Hence no guards.

disappointing that nobody actually important died at hardhome :/ boring episode with a good but predictable climax IMO! that white walker jon killed looked way more badass than the one resurrecting everyone wtf jon kill the ugly one with weird bumps on his head give them a fighting chance

They really are saving a lot of juicy action, makes me thing d&d might churn out another season based on all the cool stuff they've missed. Screw timelines.

Expecting a bigger focus on dany tonight and cersei's walk and perhaps a nice assassination to round tings off.

as for Jon's scene, it'll be saved for the finale as it is at the end of the book, there's been a lot of focus on Olly this season, he hates wildlings and killed ygritte so am expecting him to take the place of bowen marsh from the books. and melisandre's sacrifice and hopefully stannis will meet brienne too.
omg there's so much left to fit in ugh this season has been disappointing pls give us some gory scenes before it ends.

Well I think it's only the fully stone people that have actually infected people with it in the books so I'm not sure. But it's on his wrist, so it's not completely wild to assume that touching near the wrist could have some effect :P It doesn't happen at all in the books anyway. Neither had shireen's death yet.

Aren't they supposedly moving away from the books completely to do what they want now? Obviously there's always been a fair bit of difference but since they can produce shows quicker than Big G can write books they're going to either have years between series or just guess about things as they have done before

Also it's lit impossible to take Qui Gon Jinn or whatever his name is seriously because of what his character was like on Trollied

To be infected you have to touch the greyscale. Dany touched his right hand. Jorah has it on left wrist. If you got it from just touching people tyrion would also have it as jorah saved him.

The fact that they've removed all reference to cat (cat of the canals, ONLY YOUR SISTER) suggests that lady stone heart won't be a thing at all and we should just forget her. There are two more seasons left though and just because kit won't be in the next one it doesn't rule him out for season 7.

FlyingJesus

Kit didn't say he's not there next season, only that Jon Snow is dead. Frankly I don't actually care either way because he's the sort of too-good-to-be-true character that just annoys me so I wouldn't mourn his total and utter demise, but I do think that Kit is going to be carrying on as the recreated hero. I'm about to start reading the books now that I'm on summer but as I understand it the books and the show are going to be veering off in very different directions anyway and I think that's a good thing. Maybe next season will just be HODOR HODOR HODOR HODOR HODOR HODOR HODOR HODOR HODOR as it should be

Yeah, he may not know or might be just lying.

Last nights thronecast showed the scene with the other priest bringing back someone from the dead, the guy who fought the hound with a flaming sword. This show's that it's possible although Jon Snow was stabbed multiple times. It would explain why the presies has returned.

What do people think about Staniss. I don't think he can be dead as for such a main character not to show his death would be very odd. I wonder if brienne has decided the two would be better working together to rescue sansa. I know she wants to get revenge for the murder of Renly but I think being as loyal as she is, she would rather use him if it could save Sansa.

I had thought that stannis might not have been dead considering the cutaway, though there's a lot in stannis' story drawn from macbeth (suicidal wife, witches and black magic, etc)and brienne sort of kind of fits the macduff role, but then, so does ramsay bolton. would be quite predictable if he was still alive next season and I don't think he has much more to add to the story considering all those close to him have either abandoned him or are dead.

FlyingJesus
16-06-2015, 06:18 PM
If this were normal writing then I'd see Stannis as having more to do since he's realistically the only one who has (or had if he has died) a genuine claim to the throne after Tommen - it struck me as odd that Brienne still viewed Renly as the "one true king" just because he danced with her once since otherwise she seems mostly driven by what's actually right, but then this is GRRM so there's not really any fairytale ending in sight or justice on the horizon. Would still like to think he's alive and has something left just because the manner of his total demise was so swift and mundane, but who knows

On Thronecast they were talking about a big change in Stannis character and maybe that's what is going to happen. Perhaps he realises the red women has led him astray and he has ended up killing all of his family just for power. Remember Jamie seems quite a well loved character now but he was hated originally, pushing Bran and making him paralysed.

I think that she believes in her promises. She want's to for example protect the stark daughters after promising her mother even though neither wanted her help.
