Google has just released their latest stable version of chrome, 42, which blocks NPAPI plugins by default.

This means plugins like Java and Silverlight, will not work unless users enable NPAPI support in the chrome://flags settings. This option will also be completely removed in September, completely removing NPAPI support. Flash however is safe, because it uses the Pepper Plugin API in Chrome.

I can see a lot of people having to change browsers, certainly if they rely on something like Java however a lot of the plugins use very out of date technologies and are known to cause issues e.g. speed, security etc.

I wonder if this will change much?
