The e-sport scene has been growing allot the last years and is now bigger than the film industry.
Do you follow any esport scenes and teams? wich ones? :)

My favorite e-sport scenes:
Starcraft II (i dont play the game but i know 1 competetive player, who makes me watch his games)
League of Legends

My favorite esport teams:

C9
Roccat
Fnatic
Celestial Gaming
Team fusion
My favorite esport players:
snute, targA, dyrus, lustboy, huni, krepo and meisiyellow.

Is this where people sit around watching people play video games

Yep! But on a really high competition scale, these guys are profesionals. Unlike pewdiepie for example who just sits thre screamin to a camera finishing games on easy mode.

Still a lot of stigma attached to esports even though these people are athletes in every sense and not the "basement dwellers" they are often painted as. Yes I've followed the EU/NA LCS and OGN for the past few years and I dip in and out of cs:go tournaments even though I can't play the game to save my life. As for teams, I'm a tsm/EG fan where league is concerned.

I love the idea of e-Sports becoming a big thing, it's just a shame the games I excel in are not e-Sports yet :D

I do enjoy watching the odd CoD final but that's beyond it, can't stand LoL.

this does not interest me, actually it'd just want me to play the game.

These people are not athletes. A game and a sport is not the same. THese people are just good gamers.

well chess is considerd a sport, i would say that this is pretty much the same. these players are playing in a big competetive scale, i play these games myself, and would consider those guys masterminds.

Doesn't make them athletes. I play monopoly competetivly, it still isn't a sport.
