Has this guy ever been in a classroom?

On our school equipment list is an iPad and we are expected to have one in every lesson with battery. So for us, we more-a-less use google because they want to push independent learning more (I think).

Might as well stay at home then with your 'indpendant learning' coz I meqn obviously Google will help solve all your life experiences and not first hand experiance

wait people can google stuff and have tablets in school lessons?

if so then schools have changed so much. we weren't allowed any devices at all let alone use the Internet to search for anything?!

I feel old

yer well for that school anyway. I only graduated school last year and we were not allowed phones or anything, let alone get an ipad (some kids bought their own though)

At my sixth form, only people who have learning disabilities like dyslexia can use an iPad because typing helps them, but even then the iPad isn't allowed to be connected to the internet. There's only 2 or 3 people in the whole college who need that anyway and they have to bring in their own tablet.
One of the private schools near us supplies iPads to every student though lol but there's no way that could ever happen to a state school in Cambridgeshire (what with being the lowest funded county for education in the country).

Using Google searches is ridiculous. We can't always rely on the internet even if the internet is going to be more a part of our lives in the future. I agree that the way children are being educated needs to be updated but handing all the answers to kids on a plate is ridiculous.

This is absolutely ridiculous and something I have a massive problem with. I don't think this should be allowed unless the student has some sort of learning difficulty. a primary school near me is introducing it and it is a joke. Kids are going to spend all day in school looking at a screen and then go home and do the exact same thing, it's so unhealthy and I don't see why it is being promoted.

We do have iPads as an extra resource at our school, but definitely not one for each pupil... and we use them very rarely, most of the internet stuff happens on the school laptops/computers; not sure why we even have the iPads tbh.

But yeah, I think it's important that we learn things the good old way... textbooks :/

at my sisters school all free school meal kids have an ipad now funded by school it really helps my sister as she has a learning disability, teachers installed all apps for her and obviously something has helped as she's just got an A in her english mock despite being told years ago she'd probably never sit any gcse's because of her learning disability. I don't however think internet should be used in exams
