So, I'm curious to know people's opinions on this one.

On her Facebook page Miley Cyrus has posted this Photoshopped image of Queen Elizabeth II and tagged it as 'Queen Dirty Hippie.'

Now, personally, I'm a big fan of Miley, hence the following of her FB page, and usually she posts weird stuff like this and it just seems normal and okay and has never really made me think twice. But this was different.

I had to agree with many comments on the image saying that it is very disrespectful, particularly at this time of celebration for the UK at the birth of the Princess.

But, many people from the world over are saying this is simply a joke and shouldn't be taken too seriously, while other people are saying the Queen doesn't deserve respect.

Which got me thinking, what is your opinion? Should this be taken as a joke or is it disrespectful?

It's not funny just because it's not funny. Boring.

Well it is a joke, albeit an unfunny one. That doesn't mean it can't be disrespectful too :P I'm personally not offended by it and I don't think anybody should be off limits when it comes to comedy or criticism. People being held to such a high standard is wrong and it can lead to extremism. Take a look at charlie hebdo for example... Idolising people to such an extent is unhealthy.

Can someone explain the joke? It makes no sense to me. I don't really care overall though as she's probably just doing it to stir up some controversy to get some kind of attention.

She runs a charity or some **** and it's got hippie in the name, but it's not disrespectful what she's done. The queen would probably laugh her bollocks off if she saw it. It's not hilarious but it's not a crime either...

You are referring to the idolisation of the Prophet, right?

well in norway we make fun of swedens king all the time, it's a joke. you shouldnt be mad just because some one makes a joke about a queen. A joke is fun at times as long as it doesnt go too far, and this one didnt.

There's nothing disrespectful about it, just a photo edit turning someone famous for being very proper into someone quite the opposite. It's the same as photoshopping Chuck Norris into a ballet tutu or putting Paris Hilton's face onto Melissa McCarthy's body, just a bit of fun

While I don't think it's very controversial, it's not very funny either. She is just looking for attention.

Miley Cyrus trying to get back in the spotlight by being controversial...

Yawn.

Couldn't care less. It'd be no worse or better if it was someone other than the Queen.

It's crap. Is it meant to be funny? It looks like a photoshop a 14 year old would do when bored. It's not offensive or disrespectful... it's just crap.

Don't understand people claiming that she's trying to be controversial with this either; if you actually know anything about her you'd know that she posts photoshopped images of celebs (usually transposing her face onto them) all the time and just thinks it's funny. Whether or not you agree with her humour has nothing to do with the fact that it's done out of boredom rather than attempting to create scandal

I agree with most others when they say she's just doing it for attention. I'd expect something like this from her so yeah, nice try Miley.

Miley Cyrus isn't funny. If she wants funny all she has to do is look in the mirror. She's the joke.

I don't see anything really insulting tbh... :P but trust miley to stir up controversy and snatch the limelight
