View Full Version : Are you a night owl or an early bird?

For years I decided that I was a night owl and used to force myself to stay awake until the early hours of the morning. A few months ago I realised how dumb that was and how ill it made me feel so now I've finally managed to find the perfect sleeping pattern for me which is about 11pm to 7:30/8am.

I get a lot more done early in the morning, but if I stay up late and wake up late I can't get any work done at all for that day.

Do you cope better late at night or early in the morning?
Are you happy with that or would you rather be the other way round (e.g you're a night owl but would rather be an early bird)?

Not a morning person at all. So much more productive at night. Getting up super early means I'm exhausted by mid afternoon.

Definitely a night owl, have always found it really hard to go to sleep early, and generally I tend to do a lot of my work late at night as it's when I can think best!

I used to be able to stay up to the early hours of the morning (1-3am) without a problem but ever starting work and waking up 5am each day it has taken it's toll (is that the right word?) on me and I can no longer stay up. I end up going bed between 22:30 and 23:00 most nights. Weekends, I do try and push it but I struggle for sure.

So I am now an early bird for sure - Even on the weekends or days off, I find it very hard to stay in bed and I'm normally up before 8 for sure.

i wake up every morning (regardless of hungover etc.) every morning between 3.45 - 4am (obvs go back to sleep after). but i get up for work at 6am every morning anyway. i usually go bed between 11.30 - 12, but been trying for pre-11.30.

so yeah, a morning person by default i guess. though i ******* hate early mornings and grumpy as hell

I'm either a night outer, or up later, never an early bird, unless I'm catching the worm ;)

I would definitely brand myself as a night owl but I wish I could have a good sleeping pattern like you Charlie omg. I'll probably have a better one when I start my full time job at the end of the month but atm I'm not doing anything so just stay up late and sleep in. Need to sort myself out!

Im an early bird naturally i think, since I had to get up for school at 6:30am for 5 years its just embedded so even since im no longer at school and don't have a job as of yet I still go to bed at like 10:30 - 11 and wake up 7:30 - 8

I wouldn't really say either. I get tired at night and go to bed early but I also hate mornings.

Leaning more towards an early bird though

It fluctuates. I find that the more tired I am generally the more productive I become up to a certain point with my peak being about 13-14hrs before I succumb to exhaustion for the following few hours. I love the night time.

Can't be a night owl because I have a full time job. Enjoy it while you can guys!

Normally an early bird, but I do have my night owl moments. Particularly during the summer break. :P

I definitely prefer the night, I can't stand daylight at all... I guess I'm a vampire or something.

I was hoping that getting a full-time job would help me develop a sleeping pattern so I can sleep earlier since I usually start work at 7am, but nope, forever a night owl

Night Owl, I'm really bad with early starts. It gets a lot worse during holidays as well!

I used to be an early bird but stopped and became a night owl at the age of 15 due to work and assignments and tgifs :D
