Did you ever play that game in school where somebody stands facing the wall and you all have to try to run up and touch the wall, but if the person facing it turns around you all have to freeze and if they catch you moving you're out? WHAT'S ITS NAME?

They called it White Horse in my school but that makes no sense and it had a proper name grrr help plspls

whats the time mr wolf.
some of you clearly crazy. they say whats the time mr wolf then they either turn round (and you sneak up to wall) or say DINNER TIME and they chase after you.

cops and robbers was better though. got to run away from the cops (or chase robbers) and take the caught ones to the wall where they escape if they're tagged by another robber.

I wonder if these sorts of games still happen in schools now that kids all have phones and stuff

:(

Nope.

"Did you see that picture/video on instagram/vine/facebook/twitter?" has replaced all the playground games. At least at secondary school level. There might be some hope with primary schools.

Have secondary school pupils ever played those games??

I'm pretty sure in years 7/8/9 I still played playground games akin to that. Probably slightly more aggressive though.

if they shout at the time (e.g. 2 o clock) and you move that number of steps, it's what's the time mr wolf

if not, then we called it hot chocolate like laura said

we also had another one called red letter though i dont recall what it involved... move if you have letter __ in your name or something

Kimmy

It's not What's The Time Mr. Wolf because I played this too. You didn't get chased in this one, just put back to the start if you were caught moving. I'm trying to make a similar Habbo game and it's driving me NUTS thinking of the name. Statues and Polo sound familiar, but I definitely called it White Horse... tho that wouldn't make sense on Habbo :(

Inseriousity.

doesnt make sense on the playground either.

then again I never got why it was called British Bulldog. You just running from one side of the playground to the other without getting caught in the middle.

Yep... We got Bulldog banned at high school for the violence... We tried changing the name but those damn teachers saw right through us!

I originally thought of What's the time Mr. Wolf but then Laura said Hot Chocolate and I vaguely remember playing a game called that too.

hot chocolate = they turn around and u have to try get to them without them seeing u move

whats the time mr wolf = u all give a time to one person! they tell the person standing at the wall, person standing at wall says a time and u have to run to the walls and back the same amount of time and whoever wins goes next

British bulldog = everyone has to run to the side and if u get caught you're out? somethin like that

what else emmmm we did red letter??

Hannah

We called it 'What's the Time Mr. Wolf' too.
Each time we would have to shout 'What's the time Mr. Wolf' - they'd say a time and then turn around.

Yeah... kinda makes little sense lol.
