Do you know the words to your own/any other national anthems?

A simple question, do you know the words or at least a good portion of the verses to your national anthem and state what country you are from or another country at that?

On a good day, I can get away with a fair amount of words from....

- God Save the Queen (British & Royal Commonwealth realm anthem)
- Rule Britannia (British anthem)
- I Vow to Thee, My Country (British anthem)
- Jerusalem (English anthem)
- Zadok the Priest (Coronation anthem)

I have never been able to master anything in 'Land of Hope and Glory' (Britain) apart from Land and Hope and Glory.... :P

Swedens, (Du gamla du fria)
Usa, (oh say can you see, if i remember correctly)
Denmark (det er et yndigt land)
and the only british one i know, (rule britannia)

I made a mental note earlier to reply to you and say you must've heard it before and since then I was doing the garden for a good few hours and it was stuck in my head playing over and over. :P Here it is though, you must have heard it before? I love the serious tone of it but also the quite upbeat/happy theme.

that annoys the hell out of me. it's not only the fact they don't know some of it as Britons themselves, it's not even that they have the honour to represent their country..... it's the fact that literally every match they hear it and STILL don't know it. thick as mince.

I never knew it as nobody had ever taught me it so i took it upon myself to learn it. i remember watching the Diamond Jubilee thing outside Buckingham Palace and as they started playing the national anthem, I was literally cringing thinking what if they don't even know the lyrics. thankfully the crowd got it. :P

No one knows God Save The Queen except for the first verse. Not even Prince Charles know what the second verse is on about :P

I know more of Rule Britannia than God Save The Queen but that's because I really do not like it.

Rule Britannia should be the national anthem of the United Kingdom/Great Britain. God Save The Queen is dreadful in the international field. It's boring and isn't patriotic - it's purely for the Monarchy and so should be reserved for events to do with the Queen. Sporting events should all have Rule Britannia. Being able to hear it chanted at the World Cup or Olympics would be amazing!
