My apple watch arrived last Thursday :D

Has anyone else got it yet? I went for the 42mm watch sport. So far I'm liking the daily exercise goal features on it, as it's quite fun. Still getting to grips with loads of it haha.

Got mine a week today, I ended up going for the 42mm Apple Watch Stainless steal with blue leather loop. I love the daily goal features as well, but I love my notifications being pushed to the watch.

One of my friends in work is getting the sports version to gold plate, haha.

they look so futuristic! If I got one I'm not sure I'd use it as I don't really use watches. I've not seen anyone irl with it yet either. How much are they?

I really want one, one of my friends has one and he loves it. Maybe a purchase for the future...

Got mine last month, I actually only use it to see the time and draw penises to my friends.. I need to have a proper look at it, just haven't had a chance yet

Haha, none of my friends that I know of have one yet so I can't take part in that activity :'(

its so so useful already though to read texts etc and have a quick glance at what people say to you and you can reply quick or dictate a response which is fun haha, keep talking go my watch!

i got the black sport model, most manly imo of the sport range. Did want a more expensive one but they were too much haha. I also like how they include 2 straps, one comes on the watch and the other size in the box. I ended up swapping for the S/M as I was on the last hole on the L/XL and it wasn't tight enough!

Is it really worth the price tag? I still don't see how it can be justified personally.

I'm left handed, so I wear the watch on my right hand, so have have the digital crown the other way so I don't cover the screen when using it.

£339 is $682.11 and in the AU store the 42mm one is $579 without AppleCare. For the first time ever, the Apple store here is cheaper than over in the UK??? whatt it's a miracle.

I find it unlikely i'll buy one though :(

Probably quite an expensive watch to be fair. But as such an apple lover, I looked right past it haha :P I personally think it is worth it.

Ahh I thought that but then it still looks upside down, didn't know it would be the other way round lol

yup, the 42mm Silver Aluminium Case with White Sport Band

Shipping overseas would cost a fortune though :P I didn't actually know that Apple did free shipping around Australia though, that's pretty cool.

It's all shipped from China. Atleast my watch was becaus that's where they're made so it's quicker to ship them direct and they've always offered free worldwide I'm sure!

Not sure why you'd go for the first generation version, just seems like a good way to waste money.

^ This.

It's like with software, you never get Gen 1, as there will always be a new later that year, or the year following it fixing all the hardware problems that the first gen caused. Whilst Apple strives for perfection, I don't feel I'd ever get a Gen 1 product.

I was through this thought process but tbh all I tend to do it buy and sell the apple stuff so I have the latest because I'm a bit of an apple loser. Lose a bit of money but I get the enjoyment out of it.

I thought about that a bit,

Been some rumours that the life cycle will be different with the Apple Watch. That it may be updated hardware wise every five years. But also rumours that they could have an upgrade program for internal parts.

If Apple sticks to its standard life cycle that it does with all its products then, hardware on the watch will only be updated every two years, such as the iPhone.

If that happens, I'll probably end up getting the second gen anyway no matter what, depending on differences.

Why do they not have the thing in the middle so it doesn't matter which way you have it? How come that didn't make logical sense to them?

Also what can you actually do on it? Is it even worth the money? I'd never get an Apple Watch, I have no need for one as I have a normal watch that is perfectly fine. However, if someone likes them I won't be appalled or anything that they've got one as each to their own devices and choices :P.

1) I imagine it was to do with the engineering side of things - there will be literally zero room inside that watch, so moving things around would not be the most simply task in the world. Could also just be an odd design choice for a pretty ugly watch lol

2) Not much at the moment.

********. Apple's entire business plan is based around redesigning consumer products every 12-24 months so that idiots fork out the cash over and over.

I don't see the point, at least for the moment. BuzzFeed did a review on it with one of their apple geeks and he had to constantly have his phone on him.

I don't think the technology is ready yet.

I think the apple watch looks really cool and fancy, but if i was to wear it i would scratch up the screen within a month.

Precisely. Might as well pull out your phone to receive more information than a tiny, jumbled screen can ever produce. The only decent part of it seems to be the fitness side - but you can buy bands which send this sort of information to your phone for a price that does not have to be the price of half a phone, or the full price.
