For a lot of us, Habbox has been a part of our lives for huge parts of our lives. As Habbox's 12th birthday is fast approaching, I thought it would be interesting to interview some different users and ask them some questions about their time at Habbox and how things have changed (or stayed the same) since they first joined.
Special thanks to FlyingJesus, lawrawrrr and welshcake for letting me interview them.

When did you first join Habbox?

FlyingJesus - February 2006

lawrawrrr - July 2009, although I didn't start using the forum until November 2010

welshcake - I properly joined in June last year

What made you join?

FlyingJesus - Not really sure, just wanted to be part of a community I guess and it was the best site around for a Habbo like me +*+*+

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.

lawrawrrr - I don't remember a huge amount to be honest! I started hanging around in the Help Desk quite a lot and made friends with a few popular Habboxers at the time, including Georgia and Hayley. I used to love listening to the radio and going to party rooms where everyone was really friendly and chatty, and I eventually got introduced to the comps department where I got my first trial (on Christmas Eve!) and the rest is history...

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?

welshcake - I am glad I joined. Omg if I said "I'd rather I stayed away" I would get fired RIP bye.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

FlyingJesus - Bef. She was my friend who I used to talk to all the time and we'd ring each other and chat about what a **** she was, it was great.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

lawrawrrr - I have two! The first is my first Win a Room, which is what GOT me onto Habbox really so I'll always remember that (<3 DJs Robbie and Rave!). I was such a noob and won SO much furni, most of which I still have!! The second one is HxSS from 2013, I played Habbo for SO long during that time! Even though I won Worst Sport and Biggest Moaner I really enjoyed it haha!

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?

welshcake - If I could I would change the amount of dedicated people. So if I could, I would give birth to 1020 babies who are all dedicated to Habbox.

----------------------------------------------

This only shows a few of the answers I received. If you'd like to read the whole article, click here (http://habbox.com/#!/News/article/2467).

If you'd like to be in with a chance to win yourself some Habbox Birthday VIP, post below with your own answers to the seven questions above before 23:59 BST on Sunday 28th June. Everyone who answers all seven will be entered into a raffle and the winner will receive a month of special Birthday VIP, plus all entries will receive a +rep from me.
(If you don't get rep it's because I've +repped you in the last week, so I'll put you in my signature and +rep you when I can dw)

Obviously you can carry on posting after Sunday 28th, but all answers before then will be compiled into one (or maybe two depending on how this goes) article(s) posted at the end of the month which is why you're only entered into the draw if you post before the end of next week.

When did you first join Habbox?

September 2010 - I registered but i never become too active until christmas time

What made you join?

I was playing illegal habbos at the time and I wanted to get into Habbo again. It so happened that one of my friends from the retro was in the hxhd so i stalked them and all these people were in this room chatting so he told me to sign up to habbox and i done all that and it was a pretty cool forum so hxhd made me join.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.

A lot more active than this from what i can remember. I hung around the hxhd with wizzz who was my first friend, he was like hey u should apply for hxhd so i did and that was the first department i joined

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?

Yer im glad because i met some awesome people who i wish i could meet irl but just can't and its cured boredom

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

How active the forum was and the people

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

Winning the monthly graphics comp with the most horrible gif and i heard Samanfa; got mad, i was scared of samanfa when i joined because she get giving me criticism on my graphics

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?

Release v7 and have more people posting but i cant see it happening, all fansites are dying

When did you first join Habbox?

February 2010

What made you join?

2 of my friends irl listened to hxl when they played habbo so I decided to join in. Then they quit like a week later and I copped **** for still playing habbo but I just stuck around.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.

I was an idiot, posted stupid things with kisses at the end of every post. I used to love going to HxL events and events in general, hxhd was awesome and I remember quite a few of the older members who i thought were cool. Any threads I made we always in the wrong sections.... always.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?

50/50. I've enjoyed my time here but I've been addicted since like 2011 and I wonder what things would be like if I had of stayed away.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

Will (Pigperson), Chantelle, Charity (Kaylinboo), Sophie (Sloths) and a number of other people actually.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

For some reason my best memory is of a HxL event run by Will in a huge room with heaps of HxL staff running different sections of each room, it was really good fun and the on-air show was great to listen to (and made me laugh i think).

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?

Move forward and get to the same level as other fansites, such as becoming more modern (V7 possibly idk), relax some of the rules so that people don't think they're still 13 and not treat staff roles as life or death things (don't be so strict and make things more appealing and fun and not just rules rules and more rules). Certain people also seem to take Habbox way way way too seriously and have meltdowns every time the smallest things go wrong (people yelling at you in staff roles if you make a mistake etc). I know i'd be called a hypocrite for saying people take things to seriously as I'm a mod and apparently lots of people seem to think I'm very pedantic when it comes to rule breaks, but i'm only doing what I'm told!

When did you first join Habbox?

April 2006 but I didn't become active until December 2007.

What made you join?

I was having technical problems with Habbo, knew Habbox was popular so thought my best chance at fixing it would be to ask in here. Turns out no-one could help me and it fixed itself. I stayed because Articles applications opened. I didn't get in but being the stubborn person I am, I stayed (got in on my 3rd attempt).

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.

There were a lot of people and little gangs. It was hard to integrate into them. There was plenty to do and get involved with though. It wasn't until Bomb-Head organised a staff bonding Takeshi's Castle that I made some proper friends (by then, I was already Articles Staff having been rejected 3 times so that should give an indication how long it took).

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?

I learnt so much. I'd already done the growing up phase at different fansites/online communities so I'd already learned how not to do things. Habbox became the chance for me to learn how I could do things. I have learnt a lot but more importantly than that, I met some great people, who I'd want to remain friends with beyond Habbox (even if for some of them, they've already left and that's no longer possible).

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

Alex3213 was the closest thing to a best friend I had on Habbox. We were a good team. He left without saying goodbye but still plays Runescape where he's blocked everyone so that does ruin it slightly. Despite that, he was a friend I could count on.

How active the forum was and the people

There were a lot more threads. I only reply to the threads I want to and I'd get 20+ posts a week without even trying. If I wanted to do that now, I'd have to really look around for them.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

There's been so many! I am going to cheat and have a three-way tie between

Habbox Monopoly - the buzz this event got and entries increased to just under a thousand
Habbox Olympics - the mute happened a couple of days before it was due to start and I was panicking. Could've cancelled but I just thought we'd try our best to work around it. Despite a few glitches, the staff did really well under the circumstances and funnily enough, having to communicate on the forum rather than Habbo actually made it feel more like a community.
Shipwrecked - An intense event and I was so worried that it was such a struggle to recruit teams. I thought it was going to crash and burn but we managed to get 7 teams cobbled together. Once it started, I was relieved. I didn't have a life for a whole fortnight. It required constant attention but players really got into the spirit of it and it made the whole thing worth it.

When I leave, I will definitely remember the events planning and being creative as the best part of the job.

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?

Habbo, Habbo, Habbo. We need more Habbo presence.

Event organised by Comps Department. Basically, a Habbox-version of the McDonalds Monopoly. Enter two competitions, get a monopoly card. Collect a set to win prizes. Mayfair/Park Lane was a throne back when they were worth 350c so it was really popular.

Oh cool. Don't even know that that would work now that Habbox has such low activity </3 zebbadi; and I were just talking about The Weakest Link hosted by the news dept too but I don't think I ever attended :(

lol that was fun to host, its a shame it had its limits. 5 players, 1 round.
Evanora's just reminded me of Habbox Awards 2010 where it moved to HxL for the first time. That was good fun too writing the speeches for people that didn't bother. We did a practice run and I thought the jokes were too harsh cos there was no reaction but when there was an actual audience, everyone laughed along and I breathed another sigh of relief.

When did you first join Habbox?
March 2009

What made you join?
I came second in HxEE and part of my prize was VIP.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member
When I first joined they were very strict with rules, for example you'd get told off for just saying 'omfg' due to the f in it. It was more active, but I stuck to more of the Habbo parts of the forum and Spam was a scary place ;).

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
I'm definitely glad I stayed, I have met some amazing people and even without Habbox I think we'd keep in touch.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Jhazmine18, she was the 3rd place in HxEE that year and that's how we bonded from there. I also miss -TGIFriday aka Lauren as she was a lovely person to talk to too.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
The HxEE when I started, it was a lovely atmosphere and it was when fansites didn't have to have events every hour, 3 a day was enough and players could try and go to them all and still have a life.

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
A push on V7 definitely, it would be great to see a new version as it's been close plenty of times, but it hasn't happened yet.
Also a push on joining on the forum, make sure staff are going on the client if they're community staff and see if they advertise etc.

When did you first join Habbox? 2006

What made you join? I liked reading what other habbos had to say about habbo news and was getting into pixel art, and habbox had the most active graphics section of all uk fansites at the time.( 06-09)

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member A community that contained other smaller communities. I didn't really discover the new posts feature (did it exist in earlier vb?) before I had my own forum so I would stick almost exclusively in graphics and habbo news and be one of those annoying people who bumped every thread for 2 pages. The staff only really spoke to established members and all mods were hated. The helpdesk was really active even though almost nobody used it for actual help and lots used it to troll :P

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
Guess so. Had lots of good discussions and discovered some interesting people. Don't think I'd be any better off without it.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
All my friends from habbo graphics: Cheep., .-.extra.-., Boonzeet, Blissa, Liam. R@8 my friend and favourite mod, immenseman, fifteen, kaotix12, MJJ, visa. Loads lmao.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
I have lots of these too. All those times Jase faked his death and him resurfacing a few years ago. Me trashing blissa's room on habbo and being mean about her fake dead parents and causing a ruckus on the forum. buttons thinking I was australian. Hacking pabble and laughing at the weird pics he had in his emails. Exposing catzsy for the old granny she is after she told ludus i was not to be trusted. rockyhorror copying shockwave's onesie. girlnexdoor16. Habbox olympics with team Flamania where me and richie spoke our own language and we recruited laura as an honorary fourth member cos her team was crap. all the memes and paige rigging for mcdonalds with the red pod of doom. putting a chair down in hxss while red was typing and her blocking me lmfao. dragga's wonderful threads about atheism and fluoride and his collection of screenshots that shook the world. Bullying e5 for being a habbo addict. Ok I'll stop

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
I don't care enough to answer.

When did you first join Habbox?
I signed up to the forum in January 2011 on this account however I'd visit Habbox rooms every few weeks in 2009.

What made you join?
I used to stalk the forum in 2009 to look in the graphics section because I always admired the work people would in there or read threads in the relationships forum. My best Habbo friend at the time orientalframe? had joined the rare values team and whenever I stalked her on Habbo she was ALWAYS dancing in the Help Desk with Alex3213 and I felt like I missing out so I decided to join the forum and applied to be an events organiser, checked back a few days later and I'd received a trial so I stuck around.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.
Only 3 events were hosted per day and that was the norm and having more than 3 events per day was looked highly upon. I remember how I'd always wanted to be part of Habbox since 2009 so every single time I came to a Habbox room or posted in a thread I was always really nervous about it because I felt intimidated by everyone cos I thought they were really cool for being part of Habbox and I felt like a Habbox noobie but everyone was really kind to me for the most part and within the first few weeks I'd made tons of friends.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?
I'm really glad I joined because I've made some really good friends who I'll keep for life. For example, Lerdulo doesn't play Habbo or use Habbox anymore but we speak every single day and go to concerts with eachother every few months.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
So many people, wikidchaz (even though she was so annoying), garriet, chloeebaldwin, lacey1231, mcdonalds, toribbz, laurenbbz, samlouise., :cerys and all of my little crew who would tinychat every night in the summer of 2011.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
I remember getting extremely happy when Mathew asked me if I wanted a weekly event at Habbox, getting my first promotion as Senior Events Organiser, having a competition with :Cerys to see who could host the most events in one month. :Cerys being told she couldn't host Chain Game in HxSS because of p2k so she rage quit and then came back and said she came came back for her pods -.-, getting about 5 warnings in my first 2 weeks of being staff. AND MOST OF ALL MY FAVOURITE MEMORY: Back in 2011, some girl called PurpleeMist/Khey faked her death and posted an thread in the events organisers forum talking about how she owed a "big guy" lots of money and he was coming to get her, she sent worrying messages to Jazz and Paige on Skype about the situation and then disappeared. A week or so later there was a new DJ at HabboxLive and we were all in a Skype call with this DJ and I messaged Jazz saying that it sounded like PurpleeMist and we confronted the DJ about it and it was the same person and then they said to Jazz that their cousin forced them to fake their death and that they were pregnant whilst they were gone and gave birth and named their baby after Jazz. lesbon;

To improve Habbox I think there needs to be more presence of Habbox on the Habbo client to attract new users and bring back the buzz that there used to be around Habbox.

When did you first join Habbox?

November 2005

What made you join?

Rare values I think lol, it was either that or looking at news posts.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member

Habbo News & Rumours was like the most popular forum, constantly people posting stuff which was really cool. It was a very active Habbo community, constant radio stuff and HxHD was always brimming.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?

I'd probably have been better off, but it's too late for that now haha.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

Zahrina, Jackbuddy, Garion, Oli (yes lol) and Adzeh.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

HxSS, when I went so damn hard on it everyday and won a lot of stuff and pretty much carried the red team to victory. None have been able to beat my record AFAIK, many have tried but many have failed. It did help that there was always events on 24/7 so I just stayed on nonstop and gained points like a madman. That and I was friends with one of the DJs so she'd sometimes organize a competition which she knew I was good at, slight favouritism but she wasn't on the same team GG.

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?

It can't be improved from this point on now, it's fell out of touch with what Habbo is about and but then Habbo has lost touch with what it used to be about anyway so that's not a huge deal. I think just going on the way we are now is fine, nothing needs to change, it's as good as it can be for this point in time.

When did you first join Habbox?

- I knew about habbox for years, but i joined for the first time in March

What made you join?

- To be honest, i love fansites. I started playing habbo in 2004 and in 2008 i joined my first fansite. I later moved on to owning the biggest communities in Norway, and as a fansite owner you always drop by other fansites to see how they are doing and from what i had seen habbox was the coolest community over seas. When Habbo.no closed i decided to move my hotel location to .com and apply :)

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?

- I'm glad i joined, Habbox is a nice community :)

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

- Draw my movie! :)

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?

- There is allways things that can be done to improve everything. In this case i don't know what i would improve, but to get more activity in certaint forum sections would be one of the things i would try to improve! :)

When did you first join Habbox? During HxEE in 2011. I remember going to Samantha and Rosie's events and I ended up being in the top 10 in HxEE that year so I won some Club Sofas from Martin (Bolt660). I joined the forum during that because you could enter comps to win more points. I disappeared for a year then returned when I got offered an Events trial by Alex (Smurfed-)

What made you join?
I applied for events countless times in 2011 but I was ignored then when Alex was promoted he offered me a trial so I had to choose to accept my trial at Habbox or ThisHabbo and here I am. :P

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
I've learned so much here. I had no idea what pixel art was before I was encouraged to join Graphics by Drew last year and I've managed to learn the skill and improve so much in the last year. It's improved my confidence in general and I've met some great people on here. People who I know I will carry on speaking to after I've/they've left.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Not a lot of the people I spoke to when I first started have left and I still speak to them now, but I was sad when Alex3213 left since he was the 2nd friend I made here and now he's disappeared off this and Skype so I have no way of contacting him :(. Other people I used to speak to a lot are @JACKTARD (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=58199); @AlexJRiley (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=56578);, @exceeding (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=109636);, gibo46; @Deeanoo (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=109725);

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
Joining the Events Department on a trial and having Hayden make fun of my room because I'd used Mode Bars :'(
Being petrified of @Samanfa (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=68263); and then freaking out every time she sent me a feedback PM when I was a News Reporter
Being a loser and hosting 112 events in 1 month and 13 of those were hosted right after each other too omg
Increasing monthly entries in Comps from 200 to 800 with @Intersocial (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=86637); when we were Comps Management by excessively advertising (and annoying everyone in doing so, oops)
Draw My Thing: a collab event with Graphics back when @Drew (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=118080); was manager and the most successful event I've ever planned with 58 people taking part.
Habbox Hogwarts: an event that took months of preparation and went nothing to plan because a family member was ill during and got rushed to hospital, but I loved the enthusiasm of those who took part

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
More Habbo presence, definitely.

When did you first join Habbox?
2006 but didn't really use it for the first 3 months or so

What made you join?
Probably something graphics related? I know I started pixel art ~ 2006 but that wasn't really until the Halloween competitions so I'm not sure. I guess someone got me to sign up?

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member
Active, especially the graphics section. It was nice to actually get feedback on work rather than people posting for the sake of posting. But at the same time, it had some annoying people and spam was also a place to stay away from.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
Glad for the most part I suppose. It's pretty much what got me interested in a few things I do to this day.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Voiceover. .-.extra.-. ardemax (wasn't really from when I first joined but oh well).

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
Either the 2010 election or the "alt wars" I used to have with voiceover. and .-.extra.-. Competing to get the best public reaction was good back then.

Change the ******* hxss animal graphics!!

When did you first join Habbox?
I think my first account was created in mid late 2005

What made you join?
Honestly, difficult to remember why... Habbox Values were the thing of the day so everyone used Habbox for that, I think my real life friend used the forum and got me to sign up, and I haven't looked back since!

I think it was more active than it is now, a lot more people with different things to talk about

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
glad I joined, really.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Some of the old faces, but times change

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
Don't really have one I don't think... probably being the coolest guy around ;)

I'd make an over 18's specific forum

October 2010

What made you join?

I'd just come back after like 3 years and I wanted to try something different, so I applied for Rare Values and HxL and thats the main reason I'm here

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.

It was very active, and it was full of drama. Drama here there and everywhere, the events were nice though and the radio was popular and active. I remember being a lot more scared about posting on the forum and talking to certain people xxMATTGxx; x)

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

The drama I got caught up in. Indie/Purpleemist/Khey faking her own death and coming back again naming her imaginary child after me. Valuism turning out to be Chawk & Fred, that was odd af

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?

We need to pull together to work on our on-client side of Habbo. Getting into events and stuff, but without the on-client side, we can't progress as fast as everyone else.

When did you first join Habbox?
I started using Habbox in 2006 but didn't join the forum until 2008. I became active in 2010.

What made you join?
Like a lot of users, I originally joined for rare values and trading. I was also an avid listener of HabboxLive back in the day.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member
I can't remember much about it, but I do remember that it was very heavily based around rare values. I also remember that the radio was really popular back then and attracted 50 listeners or more quite regularly.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
I honestly think that Habbox has been quite an important part of my life, so for that reason I am glad I joined. I have thought about what it would have been like if I didn't join, but I don't really know what else I would have done for all these years if I didn't.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Around the time that I became active was the time that I first started as a Forum Moderator. I became friends with Shar and Rosie (Catzsy), as well as Nicola who was Forum Manager at the time. Since all three of them have moved on now, I miss them the most!

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
HxSS because there is always so much drama! That said, I'm normally the first to start moaning about the players causing trouble. (A)

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
Bring out V7 and give everything a lick of paint. The sites are looking a bit tired.

When did you first join Habbox?
I joined at the beginning of 2006 after reading the forum as a visitor for months throughout 2005.

What made you join?
I wanted to ask questions on the forum or comment, but it was when then-General Manager 8Freak8; came to my trade room to offer Habbox sponsorship I joined Habbox. I can't recall properly, but I am sure he recommended me joining to help out the Rare Values Department too.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member
Much younger, more Habbo related... although that applies to all fansites.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
Glad. It's the only online forum I use.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
A great deal, mainly my first Rare alues Department. From @Smiddy (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=5906); to @YellowParasol (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=11133); to @Cigaret (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=2779); to @Faboosh (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=55266); to @Ardemax (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=45877); to countless others.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
For me it was obviously the http://www.habboxwiki.com/Samovar_Crisis

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
I'd like to end people's delusions on here that making big plans or projects has ever worked or will work, and focus on doing what can be realistically done than wasting time on schemes which never come to fruitation. All plans on Habbox are due to failure, and like life in general it's a mixture of disasters, failures and small successes that work best rather than a manager or General Manager promising what never comes.

What made you join?
Seeing Habbox being spammed in Hallway 1 and wondering what it was. And all the booty ;)

Busy, productive and always something going on. The forum was independent and always busy, as were the competitions, news and trade departments. Everything seemed more connected, and you heard everything that was going on in each.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
Here now and can't seem to leave :P

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Mizki, MissAlice, jrh2002, to name a few.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
Probably when Habbox lost Official Fansite status after a plethora of things. Images of Habbos doing interesting things to Habbo dogs, a corrupt News Manager who pretty much took over the website because he was given too much power and the Owner at the time having a rant at Habbo staff, not realising that in every way possible they have the upper ground which ultimately led to fallings out over Habbox and Habbo.

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
Nothing really. It's a victim of the times.

I actually think Habbo and Habbox taught me quite alot. There were always those older than you and the forum specifically was quite informative and people would post news and facts etc on here and I'd pick up on that.

Habbo, as I used that most first taught me how to type well and fast and I think also had a big impact on my spelling irl now. People at school used to be so impressed by how fast I could type haha

When did you first join Habbox?

26th July 2004 (Wow, such a long time ago)

What made you join?

I honestly can't remember why I joined Habbox to be honest. I remember my friend telling me about Habbo and we searched for ages on Google because he couldn't remember the correct spelling and we kept putting "Harbio" into the search bar instead. Then I believe Habbox was the very first fansite I came across and was just amazed at and always wanted to be come staff and applied to be a Forum Moderator so many times until Professor-Alex finally let me into the department. (I was Graphics staff at one point too, all the info on www.habboxwiki.com/xxMATTGxx)

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member

Very orange, strict and professional. I remember the radio site mostly and the changes that went through as it wasn't always "HabboxLive" and then there was RadioHabbo I believe. I remember the songs that used to get played all the time like the hamster song, Chocolatte and the famous/popular DJ's back then like Mizki, Icebox12 and others.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?

I'm glad because I have met some amazing people off here and have learned quite a lot. The people I am closest to I would consider some of my best friends in the real world and have been on various trips and holidays with them so far. If it wasn't for these people and others I don't know what I would do without them.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?

People like nvrspk4, Professor-Alex, any of the Flight Simulator crew and I also miss Jin being around as well.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?

Habbox Summer Spectacular when nvrspk4 was around was always a great laugh. As 98% of the time the majority of it was last minute and stuff didn't happen until 24 hours before the first date and I remember me and Scott helping him out so much one year it was crazy.

Also the drama that happened over the years such as:

- Jase faking his death and photos of the cuts on his legs being posted

- Grig and Marriot showing their bum on camera to each other and doing "various" things and that got leaked onto the forum.

- Some girl faked her own death and then made a room on Habbo with a sticky note saying sorry to everyone.

- The "user" that people used to argue a lot with in a specific forum asking HabboxLive Djs at the time (young girls) to do naughty things on webcam getting reported to the Police by Habbox and getting arrested for it.

- There used to be a image uploader site that a lot of Habbox users used to use and a member on this forum created it. I think like he was storing passwords in plain text or something and people accused him of using the details to hack them. Gosh, I can't remember the name but it was something stupid like that.

- When "Post Your" threads got banned fully including the desktop and setup one in the tech forum and people kicking off. Few people ended up getting a temporarily ban because of it. (This was ages ago not the more recent drama on such threads)

- Various cat fish stories over the years

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?

I would love to see the General Management Team do the following:

Improve Habbox presence on Habbo - Wispur;
Release of a new Habbox.com Version (Release of V7 and then a brand new design within 12 months after release)
Release of modern and brand new forum skins (not re-colours)

A LOT more active like seriously, there used to be upwards of 100 people tuning into the radio and there would be Throne competitions at 200 listeners :')
Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
I'm glad I joined! I've met some great people over the years from when I was 12 till now. However, probably would've been better on my social life if I didn't join....
Who do you miss from when you first joined?
Soo many people! Like Samantha. Haynar and Alice, -TGIFriday and many others
What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
The first HxSS I took part in in 2009 where Narissa totally rigged everything ffs :/
Also when Immenseman got me banned for the first time when I was in the Help Desk the ****...
What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
I don't really know the only thing is the lack of activity but that's not only the fault of the forum but of habbo not being as desirable anymore

When did you first join Habbox?
I first joined Habbox in early 2005 after the closure of an American Habbo fansite (which I can’t remember the name of, but it was ran by two brothers who were both Hobbas)

What made you join?
I remember seeing it on the official fansite list and thought it looked like a good site to join. I used to love watching the animations the habbox tv staff made, especially the show called ‘cyanide’.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member.
Incredibly popular, god knows why since the site had a tacky orange layout that made your eyes sore.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better of if you'd stayed away?
Glad overall, I guess.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
People I never spoke to but used to see posting around. Mickey.Blue.Eyes or LesbianGhost for example, who for some reason are people I associate with Habbox despite having never talked to them. Oh, and Distad for obvious reasons.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
The orange parasol protests in hallway 1 and 2, resulting in Habbox getting its official status stripped (iirc).

What, if anything, would you change now to improve Habbox?
More people, unfortunately it’s easier said than done.

When did you first join Habbox?
Have been a member of this forum 11 years oh! However I was also a member on the original forum. I joined that one in the March or April of 2004.

What made you join?
My early days on Habbo were spent trading, and this is where I met Sierk, he was my first habbox friend. He encouraged me to get involved with habbox and I would continue to say I had nothing to offer. Eventually I joined, and slowly between Sierk and jrh2002 I somehow got involved creating competitions.

Tell us a bit about what Habbox was like when you first became a member
I had never used a forum, so I had to be shown how to do the simplest of things that we take for granted today. How to make a post haha, how to create a thread. I was clueless but soon learnt how. The original forum had less than 200 members, and when most or all of it was lost, we had to start again. It was a slow start in the June but by the August we must have been close to 800-1000 members. Membership really began to grow and Habbox began to really take off. New forums and sub-forums were regularly being created presumably to meet the never ending demands of new members.

Habbox Radio was launched in the August/September of that year, and Mizki who was on holiday had no idea that Habbox was about to have its own radio, and that she would be the first dj.
I guess being involved in the very early stages was a good time for me.

Are you glad you joined or do you think you'd have been better off if you'd stayed away?
Great question! I was very young and naive, and I learnt many things. So yes and no.

Who do you miss from when you first joined?
What a difficult question. I am still in touch with a few so don’t want to single out anyone in particular. The early days of habbox when staff were so few meant we all had to work closely together, those days for me were the best, so anyone that worked for habbox during my time I miss.

What's the most memorable event for you during your time at Habbox?
Has to be Mizki on the radio, she was amazing, she really led the way and others wanted to mimic her success on the radio. Many of the dj’s were very good, but she was the best.

What, if anything, would you change to improve Habbox?
You can’t go back to the beginning, so you can only move forward. It is in the hands of management and its forward thinking members to do that.

Apologies for such a long post |-)

There was definitely a Hobba called YaTwice and then become a Moderator as well. His brother, for some reason I think it was like Aaron or Arron or something but not sure. I remember the fansite but also can't remember the name of it. I swear he used to have like yatwice.com or something on the lines of that.

Habbox was one of the biggest fansites yet always had so many rules it was unreal but after years of joining i wouldnt change anything as its the fansite every one loves and adores so im glad Habbox is back and is alot better then it was when i first Joined.

I miss James he was not only my manager when i was a DJ here at Habbox he was a friend who you could always go to for advice or just for a general chat. oh i do miss it.

Whats the most memorable event for you for when you first Joined?
All events are memorable don't think its the event i just think its the people hosting the events and the people participating in the vents what make a good event.

What would you change and why about Habbox?
Don't think id change anything Habbox is ran and maintained by a great managerial department of enthusiastic individuals who have a good eye to make the site the best potential it could be.

i started listening to habboxlive in '07 and listened for a few years before signing up on here in '09

What made you join?

i came across it due to habboxlive doing competitions and stuff for furni/coins so decided to join properly to make the most out of it and win as much stuff as possible. i didn't realise how attached i would become and was pleasantly surprised when i ended up making loads of friends and loved the community
