HELLO ok

I'm going camping the first week of August like I do every year and I'm thinking of using dry shampoo because the showers have no hot water and whilst I can cope with the quickest of quick washes, I don't have time to wash my hair.

So I was wondering how many of you already use dry shampoo, what the results are, if it's worth it, and what brand I should use (if any tbh), how long do the effects last, do I need to use a lot (long, straight, really thick dark hair)? I hear it's nowhere near as good as washing your hair normally but it really is just to get me through the week until I'm blessed with my own shower again. So yeah, any dry shampoo tips?

right I have fine hair so it might be very different for you:

- i use batiste when I do use it
- ONLY thing that works for me and the best tip I can give you is to use it the night BEFORE your hair usually gets greasy, if i do it when it's already greasy it just makes my hair look worse :(
- i tip my head upside down and spray it into my roots, massage and leave for a few mins then brush out. Spraying it straight on my head makes it dirty but tipping upside down gets straight to the roots. And you're supposed to leave it a bit before brushing out, not brushing straight away.

Batiste dark brown one!! It's a lifesaver. Would be lost without it. I only buy this one though because dry shampoo makes your hair white but this one is like a brown dye to it so it's fine.

Search waterless pits and bits shampoo and waterless pits and bits body wash, it's great, just towels off. You can get anti-bacterial body wash too

oh also side note at primark they now sell body wipes if u need some lol

i personally do not get on well at all with batiste, no idea why i used to and now it makes me hair even worse, really weighed down and gross. using the same technique as the one ive always used too. i tweeted not long ago asking for dry shampoo recommendations and i got the following from girls:

- the aussie one
- fudge urban
- emi dry shampoo
- sebastian dynamics

one i know that has a lot of dry shampoo *+*+*hype+*+*+ by bloggers is the CoLab one which they sell in boots, supposed to smell really good n work super well

wtf i sound like a lunatic about dry shampoo

Honestly? It's a lifesaver for me if I was too lazy to wash my hair that day and I had to go somewhere. BUT. The only thing is, it's not going to work complete magic like you are washing your hair, like you said. Honestly, I have really greasy hair and it probably wouldn't make me through 3 days. I mean it's going to make some improvements, but I don't think it's going to do as good as you think it will throughout the week.

It's not a complete alternative because as the week goes on, more oils and grease will start to build up in your hair. And yes, the dry shampoo will cover up some of it, but I wouldn't think it'll do you well towards the end up the week. But I don't know! Never tried it for a week!

Have fun!

Thanks everyone! I've gone out and bought some Batiste. I'll give it a go tonight or something and see what happens - I still have loads of time before I go camping so if it's no good I've got ages to try something else.

and _HeyyitsHannah_; thanks for your advice, I know it's not going to be as good as washing but I just need it so my hair will kind of half survive until the end of the week!

No it was just a choice between coconut, ordinary or floral :( I'm gonna try it out when I don't have to do anything for the next 2 days or so so if it looks really bad I can just hide in my room and no1 will ever know

Ok UPDATE TIME

I just tried it this morning and the effects have been good so far. I can see what Red; means about the lighter colour but I just had to comb, brush, brush out the parting, put it back in and all the stuff was gone and it looks fine. Obviously it doesn't feel like washed hair but it does look like it which is fine. I'll see how long this lasts now!
