I remember years back that Laura said one reason that there was a lack of content on V6 was because all of the content departments efforts were going into V7. So... where is all of that? It seems as if there's less on V7 than V6?

I mean, compare articles to content on the site and then remember that articles has been around for less time...

Bug: Menu > Articles > Real Life > Real LIfe and relationships (There's a capital I where there shouldn't be one).

The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was 'How did this take so long to make?', but it looks better than V6 that's for sure.

I'd like to think the Content Department would beg to differ (inb4 expling) but I see less stuff which would make it fast, which is great but it looks like most stuff was re-written and a few new pages here and there. I guess it will be used alot because HabboxLive is no longer

David

still some of my design in there, that's cool (h)

also add a field for habbo name in settings, and pull the avatar from that instead of registration name.

I really like it! Only suggestion is for on the radio timetable page the current dj's slot to be highlighted.

Drop downs are very last century and the text is difficult to read. Pleasing to look at compared to other versions but lots of functionality needs optimizing.

I said that lack of updates to V6 was because of working on V7. Most of the stuff that was being worked on was already imported into V6 though when I became AGM, but we're talking years ago now! When Joe was manager he and I worked together in streamlining the site so it's not full of everything and we imported a lot more onto the wiki - so we don't have duplicated content. What other things would you like to see?

Bug: Menu > Articles > Real Life > Real LIfe and relationships (There's a capital I where there shouldn't be one).

Fixed

The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was 'How did this take so long to make?', but it looks better than V6 that's for sure.

The short answer is it didn't. Calclulating by man hours it probably didn't take more than a few months!

i think the issue is that on the login page the username field is just 'username' whereas i think it should be 'habbo username'

http://i.imgur.com/wfbfoKx.png

whereas on the login page, the username field text is 'habbo username', so i think thats just confusing everyone

I do like the wide sides though as it makes the site less cluttered and easier to read.

Because if you look at the amount of staff changes for site coders you will see there has never been a team that has always stayed and actually finished what they said they would. It's been through so many coders, it's took this long to get it released.

But please, if you know any dedicated coders then feel free to throw their names at us.

Well there's no need to be funny, yes you have may have problems but taking years to produce an average/normal site isn't all that impressive.

I don't know any coders nor is it my job to find any as I don't run a fansite.

In any case as I said, there's some improvements such as the clearer sides and above all at least it is finally here which is the main thing given the history.

Where the hell was I being funny? I was explaining the reason to you. Everyone in higher management know V7 isn't actually decent and there is other fansites better than us in terms of designs. It was made back in 2012. We still needed to push it out so we had a platform to work with that isn't based on the previous V6 coding. But our next step (while fixing bugs, putting missing features in) is to get a new modern design that isn't going to take 5 years.

The design is a bit old, but it's still better than v6. We have a new platform now and wordpress makes it so much easier to manage the site. Bringing a new theme to v7 with a modern UI will be an easy task.

:O no orange. But on a serious note, I did also wonder how it took ~5 years, especially when about 2 years ago we were told it was only rare values that was incomplete, yet rare values hasn't arrived with this release :P. I'm glad to hear it's easier to manage back end though. and I look forward to seeing the new rare values if there is/will be one.

Can you remember the discussion we had about this title Matt :P (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=750747)

To be fair, If I wasn't let down it then it would have been that year.

But yes, front end may just look like a layout change If you don't know what you're looking for. But the back end is all different and we have moved away from the custom built CMS HotelUser created many years ago. Any staff who have access to the site panels on the new one will see a complete difference.

My aim, well I say my because we all know what happens when we give out dates and times. Is to be able to have a more modern design that is competitive with other fansites before July 2016 - That's what I would like to see anyway. But we have work to do first - Mainly to fix the bugs that have been reported so far, slight feature changes for the staff panels and hopefully some sort of RVR capability.

It's taken a very long and far too long time to get to the stage we are now - I can completely see where people coming from if they are disappointed. But we are here now, we have a version of V7 out and now we can finally work towards improving it while it's being out in the public environment.

On that note, I'm going back to sleep as I shouldn't be awake right now.

If it was worked on for 5 years straight, I can see where you are coming. It's just so many breaks in the whole development cycle meant it kept getting delayed, delayed and delayed.

v8 coming 2020

ok more serious question, on the profiles you can enter your habbo name, is it possible to use that to show your habbo's image, rather than your profile's name. If that makes sense.

eg. for me, my habbox name is James & i have Dolphins in my "Habbo name" section of my profile & it shows the character James on all pictures of me. Is it possible for it to be the user's "Habbo name" because that would make more sense anyway.

I know i was warned that the name i choose will be the habbo shown but i was wondering if it could be changed at all. Purely as it'd make more sense anyway.

David; j0rd; Kyle; and whoever else mentioned this.

I've now changed the "Nickname" field in the Profile (http://habbox.com/v7/your-profile) page to Habbo name. When you put your Habbo name in this field, you will find that the Habbo at the top will change to that, and so will the comments Habbos.

You can also choose whether you want your user login name, or your Habbo name to be displayed with the drop down box one below the option.

Hope this is sufficient for you guys!

Please note, I'm aware the button at the bottom as no text in it. ;)
