The HxF Mole is a forum competition that first began in February 2013. After 3 competitions we are ready to launch HxF Mole 4.
Once again the competition is two weeks long running from Sunday 9th August to Sunday 23rd August.
For HxF Mole 4 we will be using some of our favourite tasks from HxF Moles 1 - 3 along with some brand new tasks.
18 contestants will be taking part this time around and one of these 18 contestants has been randomly selected to be the Mole.
As a group the 18 contestants must work together to solve and complete different tasks in order to add VIP to the group prize fund. At the same time, the Mole must secretly sabotage these tasks to stop the group of winning the VIP. The Mole must remain hidden as the other contestants must try to identify the Mole over the course of the competition.
After every 3 tasks an execution quiz will be posted. This quiz consists of 15 questions about the Mole. All contestants must submit this quiz before the deadline and the contestants with the lowest scores will be executed, that is eliminated from the competition. Therefore the more a contestant knows about the Mole, the more likely they are to remain in the competition.
At the final execution quiz the winner of the competition will be the contestant who knows the identity of the Mole the most out of the remaining contestants.
Ties in scoring for the execution quiz usually doesn't matter but it does on certain occasions. If there is a tie for who is to be eliminated the Mole submits a list of all contestants in order of who they want to be executed the most - the first tied player on the list is the player to be executed. If there is a tie for who wins the competition results from the previous execution quiz are looked at to decide a winner.
The winner of the competition will win the group prize fund.
The Mole will win the Mole's prize fund (that is the VIP the group fails to win in a task) if they remain undetected throughout the competition. To remain undetected is to get 15 or less Mole detections throughout the competition. A mole detection is where one contestant scores more than half of the points during the execution quiz and identifies the Mole in the final question of a quiz.
There are various individual prizes that contestants can win throughout the competition in addition to VIP for the group prize fund.
Individual VIP - Contestants can win VIP for themselves, this VIP will be awarded at the end of the competition.
Credits - Contestants can win credits on Habbo.
Exemptions - Winning an exemption means that contestant will automatically pass the next execution quiz and will not need to answer it.
Neutralisation - A contestant may cancel another players exemption.
Freebies - A contestant can use a freebie on a question in an execution quiz, it essentially counts as a free correct answer. It cannot be used on the final question of a quiz, nor can it be used on the final two execution quizzes.
There are also prizes available to forum members not taking part in the competition through the 'Who is the Mole?' polls that are posted alongside the execution quizzes.
In the poll forum members will have 24 hours to vote for who they think the Mole is. You may not see who voted for what until after the competition ends. Forum members who correctly guess the identity of the Mole will win HxSS points - the amount depends on how far into the competition you identify the Mole.
For each poll one forum member out of all forum members that identify the Mole will win 10 credits as well. The Mole has the chance to win HxSS points based on if they were identified by the forum or not.
HxSS points are given out as follows for each poll:
Poll 1: 300 HxSS points
Poll 2: 250 HxSS points
Poll 3: 200 HxSS points
Poll 4: 150 HxSS points
Poll 5: 100 HxSS points
Poll 6: 50 HxSS points
Poll 7: 25 HxSS points
General management and myself have the right to refuse to award HxSS points if we think there are any irregularities in the voting.
I think I've said everything I need to, if there's any questions just ask.
Contestants will be announced shortly, competition will begin tomorrow around 8pm BST.
It's worth reiterating: The Mole has been chosen completely randomly. This means it could be male, female, old, young, experienced player, new player, someone that has been the Mole before, someone that has never been the Mole etc.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
