View Full Version : Do you use an alarm to wake up?

Odd question. Usually when I have to get up at a certain time, I either set one alarm or none at all because I usually go to sleep exactly 8 hours before if i can so my mind's used to getting up after a certain amount of sleep.

Matt has THE WORST alarms. One of them sounds like a school Bell which he physically has to get up to turn off. This just alerts him that it's 30 mins until he gets up to prepare him. Then he has like 10381 mini alarms on his phone to wake him up near 5.

How do you wake yourself? Can you reliably get up in the mornings?

Without that alarm plus my alarms on the phone I wouldn't get up in time for work!

I have one alarm. I need one to wake me up but luckily once it wakes me up that's it, can't go back to sleep

I have an alarm, but a lot of the time I don't use it.

When I stay out I have an alarm and he has two, one on his phone which is horrific, the other just for the sake of it. lol.

I have one alarm and it usually just wakes me up but sometimes when I'm super sleepy, I tend to ignore it and just like turn over but then I'd sit there and forget my alarm went off so it'd be awks :(

Oh god, yes. I have at least 6 alarms. I usually sleep through the first 3/4. Haha. Depending on how deep of a sleep I get.

I have an alarm which I usually then hit snooze on every 10 mins for about the next hour or so until I finally decide to get up or give up and turn it off entirely

I set loads of alarms. I like to know I have time to sleep in so I wake myself up early.

Then they go off every 10 minutes for the hour before I need to get up. Only because I worry I wont get up.

I only use alarms for uni or if my sleeping pattern is so ****** that I have to force myself out of bed at a reasonable time. I tend to set like 3 to get up. Jake has an alarm clock and alarms on his phone and some times on my phone too, but I never even hear them.. It's so odd, especially as I'm a light sleeper. I just know to tune them out!

I only have 1 alarm for work. I'm actually pretty good at waking up when an alarm goes off.

I do. I wake up at 6 AM every morning, and I go to school at 8 AM. Without my alarm, I wouldn't wake up in the morning. :)

I have one alarm just as a caution, but I usually get up 10-20 minutes before my alarm anyway and wonder why I couldn't just take that extra sleep.

I'd wouldn't rely solely on my body clock though because one day I would wake up an hour late or something!

I only use my alarm when I'm doing the early shift at work (which is 6:30). That's the only day of the week I have to wake up before 8 so it's a struggle.

Inseriousity.

One alarm wouldn't make sure I'm out of bed and up on time these days. I need to have others set to make sure I do get up and out etc.

I have an alarm clock and then 6 alarms on my phone spaced 5 minutes apart but still sometimes sleep through them and have to give an excuse to work. When I get into bed I spend 5 minutes checking all the alarms are set right even though they never change. Have to go through and check that they're all on, on for the right day, all am and all the right time about 20 times just to be sure.

Not atm cos I have no reason to ever get up so I just sleep til 1 or 2 xD however from next week I'll be getting up at 7 am twice a week so I'll be setting 2 alarms.
It's not too hard for me to get up, once I'm awake Im awake for good

I use my phone as a alarm. Due to me easily falling asleep quickly I need to turn on the feature where it makes me do a puzzle or put numbers in a correct order to stop it. (That makes me awake)
