A prominent UKIP donor told me, privately, last month that the party will be over in a few years' time.

And this person wasn't talking metaphorically. This individual, who has given considerable sums of money to the party, and placed much stock in Nigel Farage, believes its work is done.

A joke of a party, a joke leader.

Ukip's death has been forecast many times before (1999, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010 and now) and everytime it does the opposite of what the pundits predict. In any case, if it secures or helps secure our EU withdrawal then it's raison d'etre would be fulfilled and it would dissolve/evolve into something quite different.

An interesting book on the topic - an actual academic one rather than just a quote from BBC News - is this book (http://The UKIP leader said winning the referendum and getting Britain's "freedom and independence" back mattered to him more than anything else."UKIP is not my priority at the moment. I might be leader of it but my priority is fighting this national referendum and winning."). I would suggest a read of that on the future of Ukip/a Ukip-type party as opposed to simply stating what you as a Conservative/Labour supporter may want to happen as opposed to what will happen.

Last YouGov Poll 18/09/15 -

Conservatives 39% (-2)
Labour 31% (+1)
Ukip 16% (+3)
Liberal Democrats 6% (-1)
SNP 5% (-1)
Greens 3% (-1)

The bigger question whether it is Ukip, SNP, Greens is this: are people likely to come rushing back to the main two or will the drift away continue? I say continue.
